Would recommend this hostel for a short stay in Berlin. Location was okay - fairly short walk to the nearest bus stop and from there you can get into the centre quite cheaply. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. Bar facilities were a good way to meet people and the atmosphere was friendly and laid-back. Rooms were a decent... More

4 days in this hostel. Quite far from the center and no wifi into the room but I would recommand to stay for a short trip. I've rent a bike and It was ok, there is a discount if you rent a bike for two days and more.

Very good hostel with comfortable rooms, clean showers and a decent breakfast for a low price. The bar was open all the time which was nice and it was run by friendly staff. It would be better if wifi was provided in the rooms and not just downstairs. Also the hostel is located quite far away from everything so you... More

Amstel house is a good hostal. The rooms are large and clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. It offers free pool and table tennis along with €1.50 drinks during happy hour. It is a quiet hostal, we found it hard to meet people as most of the guest were part of a large group or school trip. The closest... More

Great hostel in a quiet area of Berlin. The ideal place to experience Berlin as a Berliner. Showers and toilets are decent and there is free car parking in the streets. I would recommend if you travel by car or want a relaxing trip. If you only have a few days for sightseeing you might want to get closer to... More

There is nothing to praise and nothing to complain about. You simply get level of services you would expect at this price. But one thing that really won me over was all you can eat barbecue where we could make our own burgers, many burgers....

Amstel House Hostel is a very trendy, young hostel! However, there was nothing that stood out from my experience that makes it "above average" compared to other hostels I've stayed at. However, there wasn't anything terrible about it either. It was reasonably priced, but the hostel was far from many attractions. You have to take approximately a 10 minute walk... More

The hostel is clean and is close to public transport, restaurants and shops. However, there are a few important minuses. Internet is only available in the lobby downstairs, and that's where everyone will be hanging out for eating, drinking and socialising. There's also a serious lack of power points. It would be impossible for me to even charge my phone... More

This is a lovely hostel. There are places to park, lots of rooms and a nice staff... But the crowd was young and weird. There were three high school trips staying there. An annoyingly young crowd. Others were standoffish and awkward. When I found one person who was social we couldn't find a decent bar. We walked 5 blocks in... More

We stayed here for a long weekend trip to Berlin. Overall, I found the hostel fine, nothing special but also there is nothing wrong with it. It should be said that this is solid value for money, though you may consider that for a little bit extra you could be in a location that will allow you to be more... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
