I really liked this hotel, the staff were friendly and attentive, the location was west of Berlin city centre but not too far, as it had close transport links to the centre of Berlin. The breakfast was quite basic but adequate a good start to the day and it was included in the room price, also free tea, coffee and... More

the position is perfect, strategic, , close to the main attractiones and really at the centre , the room wasen't nice, not too much confortable , but really without any noise from outside . The breakfast is really poor , I mean ok there are eggs, sausages ham and cheese , but nothing special , so just the minimum required. however,... More

The location of the hotel is really good, close to several of the main sights in Berlin. However, our room was really small and the bathroom so tiny that it was difficult to turn around in the shower cabin. Breakfast was boring (in my opinion) and not that many things to choose from. Every morning we went to a nearby... More

In compare to the price you are paying to this hotel, services are not good. However, if you had no choice and could not find any other place to stay, this would be ok. Old bed, old system, old building and etc. You cannot expect the services forvthe money you are paying!!

Great location, one block from S bahn station Friedrichstrasse. Beds are OK. If someone walked on the corridor youvcqn hear that clearly. Internet is very unstable, better is to buy a simcard or go for a coffee at startbucks.

Think we had expected a tiny bit more in terms of breakfast and cosiness, though. A bed and some (poor) breakfast.... The staff was a bit confused and didn't seem like they were used to tourists from abroad.

Hotel Amelie Berlin has a good location and spacious rooms. The closest metro is Freidrechstrasse, a 5 minute walk down the road. For a budget-friendly hotel, you really can't complain. Our triple/3-persons room was clean, it had everything we needed, and the showers were hot with a strong water pressure. We stayed at Hotel Amelie Berlin 3 nights. The hotel... More

The location was ideal for the train station, the river, Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. Shower was brilliant and beds although small were comfortable However, the rooms were in the next door building to the reception which was closed at night. The lino on the floors of the rooms and corridors made it very noisy. Breakfast was very poor and... More

We had booked several of us in for a short business trip to Berlin for a human rights NGO. When we arrived we were told that that we had one fewer room than we had booked, one name was missing, despite the fact that we had pre-paid. We coped by getting two female members of staff to share for a... More

A well-located hotel with a great intimate feel. Everything was good and clean. Free tea/coffee in the afternoons a nice touch. Breakfast was fine. Very central location - close to restaurants, river and main tourist sites. Entrance is unpretentious and entrance to our room was round the corner - this was no problem. Staff at reception were very pleasant.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
