Booked a 5-night stay on Hotwire - so not able to use Dorint Card benefits (only available if booking direct). Got a standard room on the 9th floor with a great view (see photos). Bed - a very comfortable king-size (200x200cm) with a pillow top mattress topper. Two pillows as standard, could have done with four as standard, found a 3rd pillow in wardrobe. Bathroom - full size deep tub with shower mixer, large walk-in waterfall shower with separate shower mixer, separate WC, twin sinks, large mirror, separate magnifying mirror and hairdryer. Usual amenities - soap, shampoo etc. Facilities - large TV with usual German channels and added foreign stations, including UK channels. Ability to screen mirror with Apple and Android devices. Kettle and mini fridge. Do not be misled by the cupboard labelled 'bar' - this standard room did not have a minibar. Both wired and Wi-Fi (free) Internet available, reasonable connection speed. Separate desk and chairs, plus iron and ironing board in wardrobe. Room could have done with more storage space, perhaps a unit of drawers? Dressing gowns and wetroom slippers also provided. The blackout curtains were good quality and there is air conditioning (which only works if the room window is closed). Added bonus - a Bose Wave music station (DAB radio and CD) Overall, a good hotel in a fantastic location. 500m walk from Zoologischer Garten rail station (40 minutes direct service to the airport), plenty of stores, bars, restaurants, coffee shops on the doorstep, and the hotel also has Le Faubourg restaurant on site.…
This hotel claims to be a 5* category but this is not correct. Although the staff is very friendly, the service and details you normally find in a 5* hotel are not available. Some examples: water in the room is only provided upon arrival, in all 5* hotels I've been, this was available every day. There were no slippers or bathrobes in the room. Bathroom utilities were already used by other guests. (finger prints and grease on it, clearly opened before). Breakfast buffet was insufficient: no fresh (!) white buns or no white buns at all, even when asked for, no sweets in the buffet, no champagne or cava, things you normally find in a good 5* breakfast buffet. When people spilled things on the floor, it was hardly cleaned properly and the next day, the floor was still sticky with the spilled orange juice. So, there's opportunity to improve!…
This was a faultless 4 night stay. Staff were attentive and responsive and we would like to highlight Zoyensaya (not sure of spelling) who looked after us at breakfast and went the extra mile. Really though, everyone was enthusiastic to be accepting overseas guests and we were made to feel extremely welcome. BEST bed and pillows I have ever experienced away from home!
We were old customers of this hotel and we expected as good as 8-10 years ago. But, unfortunately, it was not so good anymore. I do not know if it is because of not enough manpower of this hotel due to the covid pandemic or just changed the ownership. The main point of unsatisfied is about cleaning of room. We spend 4 nights. The first day was totally OK, but other dayš room cleaning was not enough. The used cups and glasses were not washed. Amenity was not added. Room and bathroom were not cleaned. Good thing is a nice breakfast and very friendly stuff at the breakfast buffet. Reception stuffs are nice and kind. Location is good. They accepted an early check-in at 9am. Unfortunately, there was unpleasant surprise on departure. As we were leaving on Monday early before breakfast we asked about possibility to exchange Monday breakfast for our arrival day. Staff was were kind and everything was nicely fix. On departure we were asked to pay for this breakfast as our departure breakfast payment was deleted. No questions to front staff as they didn't know story. If hotel become rich with 80 euro for free - congratulations! Please don't us expect any more. Thank you for a service.…
Typical city hotel. Clean and efficient, the towels are small, they need larger bath towels. Beds need more than 1 pillow although there was 1 extra so 3 between 2 of us , no flannels provided. Beds are large and comfortable. Breakfast was good, staff were attentive. Ideal if you want a room for the night.
The location of the hotel is excellent. You can walk the area for sight seeing in the west Berlin. The room was huge, modern and very quite. The breakfast was ok and the staff helpful and friendly. The view of the top floor rooms is beautiful!!!
I’m struggling to understand why this hotel gets such good ratings. Website says “a place full of life…where hospitality and comfort meet”. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I checked in this evening, hotel booked for me by my Company. On check in at 10.30pm I asked where I could eat, was told I couldn’t until breakfast tomorrow. Surprised I asked about a bar/restaurant or room service and was told no not available. Told I could order something in and shown a list of restaurants that I had to take a photo of. On closer inspection, they had all closed already. Went back to reception and asked someone else. Told sorry, only chocolate or crisps available, they couldn’t offer anything else to eat or drink. No mini bar in the room just a single bottle of water. Seriously, what is this place?! Where is the hospitality and comfort. As a woman on her own visiting the city it is not ideal having to wander around at night to find something to eat and drink on arriving. Have never stayed in a Dorint Hotel before and I will be sure never to again.…
We enjoy our stay in the hotel. The standard room was enormous, and the bathroom had separate bathtub and shower, and two sinks. Thanks to Helene at the breakfast for her very good service. Possible to get tested inside the hotel which is practical. Breakfast was of very good quality.
I had booking in this one hotel for May 2020 , pre-paid EUR 540. Due to covid pandemic hotel accepted new dates of travel scheduled for December 2020. However, a month ago they sent email saying due to insolvency process they had to cancel my reservation and moreover my deposit is lost! I received a mail from insolvency lawyer in German! And obviously I'm international traveler and don't speak German. Letter says that if you did not claim your reimbursement before 25/10 then it will be lost. And Email with notification of insolvency I received only on 29/10! By the way, their lawyer still haven't provided English version of the letter. I asked the hotel to reimburse my deposit as service was paid and never provided , that this is unacceptable, however, they refused. I would not recommend this one hotel to anyone.…
It's my first time at the Sofitel Berlin Kudam and WOW the top design & top style, everywhere you have amazing paintings & sculptures. This is what makes you feel Berliner and the love for culture & Art. I have to thank also Alessia who made my registration, but without asking she gave me a gift and when I saw the view, she gave me a room from where I could see "Die Gedechniskircke" in front of me. I am often in Berlin but had never had this view. Also when entering the room the design the tast in the material they have choosen. The bathroom is made of green marmore and you get a selection of free drinks and the spece and quality its worth the money. Tomorrow will explore the surrounding and see that you are at the heart of Berlin and lots of restaurants to choose at Kudam....would also like to mention that safty is high in their priorities you feel safe and all precausion are implemented, even the TV control is inside a plastic bag to avoid any risk.…
