Well, the only good thing about this pension (it shouldn't be characterized as a Hotel, cause its not) is the location. Really good. But for the same price you find many alternatives in the same region. I will start with the bedroom: mine was close to the noisy reception. You can hear everything: people talking, walking, coughing, etc. Oh yes,...

No more no less. The room is clean, the bed is good, a proper breakfast all for a fair price. Do not expect more. But what more do you need when you're in such an area with all the restaurants, winebars, entrepreneurs & entertainment around the corner?! After all these impressions you just close your eyes and fall asleep. If...

We stayed for three nights, a triple room with continental breakfast included and this was very good value. The room was very clean with standard 'hotel' furniture but the shape and size of the room made it feel very spacious too. The high ceiling with carved plasterwork and 'period' light fittings added an historic atmosphere to our stay. The shower was...

Hotel is in a lovely old building.with the quaintest elevator I have ever seen---it dates from the early 1900's but functioned perfectly in the 4 days I stayed there---it is small though so really only enough room for myself and my luggage. Upon arriving you need to be buzzed in as the hotel only occupies part of this large building....

Staff were so kind, friendly and helpful. They try their best to help you and give you any information you want. Breakfast was good for a 3 star hotel. The room was clean and large. Although it is mentioned in hotel page and my confirmation that rooms have safe boxes, there was no safe box in hotel rooms and we...

Stayed here for the weekend, the building is tired and in need of a refurb. My room had the squeakiest floor I've ever heard, every little step made a noise. Room was clean enough and bed was comfy. The old double glazing units were quaint and actually did block traffic noise, although it is on a quiet street in a...

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many times when visiting Berlin. The location is ideal with bus stops within 5 minutes walking distance and the S-Bahn say 10 minutes. There plenty of resteraunts around to suit all tastes as well as shops, upmarket and middle of the road. We found this hotel a few years ago and...

It was my own fault. I waited to long to have my friend in Berlin make a hotel booking for me in her neighborhood. Thus, the Hotel Astrid. Nothing was wrong with the hotel. It was fine. It is clean, centrally located along Berlin's Kurfurstendamm (equivalent of the Champs Elysees in Paris), and friendly. The breakfast is fine. But, the...

The Astrid Hotel is a solid hotel not far from Savignyplatz and its array of wonderful restaurants. Incredibly quiet the beds are comfy and the breakfasts have all you could need (cereals, cold meats, juice and coffee) - but don't expect anything more. Also don't expect luxury - the stairs leading to reception creak, and the lift is very rickety!...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

“Room 19 is a good location on the first floor, there is a lift.”

“The street is a quiet street is quiet so I would think that a street side room is not too noisy. I had a room on the third / fourth floor overlooking the courtyard. It was noisy only when the traditional trash removal team came in the early morning. Nice tree in the courtyard. Rooms are small. I had a double room for one person and it was small. The singles must be smaller.”
