Nikolai Residence provided a great respite from a hectic Berlin! The Nikolaiviertel is charming to walk around and has plenty of places to eat. The staff was easy to work with. We typically prefer a place with breakfast for ease, but we did not miss it here. Plenty of great places for breakfast very near by. Definitely convenient to so...

The hotel is in a good central location with cafe's and restaurants nearby so the lack of restaurant facilities in the hotel was not a problem. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The location of the hotel is perfect near Alexanderplatz. The room was clean and inviting and the hotel is located in a nice quarter. The shower is huge and excellent with various possible activities. The scenery from the hotel is perfect.

We chose this hotel because it's location, the OK price and because it's modern and not big. Very reasonable priced minibar, I cannot think of one thing that was lacking in the room. Enough lights, enough sockets, nice shower, clean. Helpful and friendly staff, bicycle rent. Very, very satisfied.

Very good location in the Mitte, just in the center and very close to the main atractions. We stayed in a family room that was very spacious and with a nice terrace. The beds are very confortable and the staff very helpfull. Just next door there's a very nice restaurante with typical berlin dishes. Right next to the hotel there's...

The room is comfortable, clean, modern and spacious. The hotel has got a optimal location to visit Berlin. It is good for travelers, who do not need eat at hotel. Is true that here there are not services, like restaurant or bar. However has a great value and a good price.

Stayed here in a family room (4 occupants) for 2 nights in late June. It's in a great & safe location (Nikolai Vertel/Alexanderplatz), close to some major attractions and the metro. Reasonably priced and the rooms were comfortable and shower was great. Breakfast is available in an adjacent restaurant and a cafe close by. Plenty of eateries in the vicinity.

What a hidden gem this hotel is nestled away in a quaint little square. Rooms were superb and very comfy beds. Local attractions nearby include the TV tower and an abundance of bars and restaurants all ready to serve beautiful food. Will be back to Berlin and will definitely stay here again.

There's no AC which may be normal in Berlin but this forces you to open the windows at night. You can hear the church bells which may interfere with your sleep. The wifi was also not working for half of our stay. The staff was friendly. The location is also quite nice and there are great dining options right outside.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
