Visited Berlin for a city break - stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Location was great, only half an hour or so from the airport by public transport, really close to the station - if you come out the right side it's less than 5 minutes to the hotel. Even though it was so close to the main strip, the...

I traveled to Berlin for a short week of sightseeing with my 2 year old and we stayed in this hotel. It was clean and quiet, and the breakfast was lovely and well stalked. The staff was just great, very warm and friendly, and easy going with my child. The neighborhood was full of restaurants and bars, and was very...

Room: I had a economy room. WLAN for free, good speed small and my room did not have a desk! (According to webpage even the economy rooms partly have desks) --> ask for a economy room with desk. Parking situation: bad. and no parking house near by. Breakfast: Quite good but not special requests (eggs sunny side or omelet) are...

the staff is very helpful and friendly but not overbearing. the place could be cosier with a bit more warm colors, and less empty grey spacesbut the design still is nicely done in the current trendy style, they even havent forgottent the "useless" but decorative vintage light bulbs... the usual uncomfortable mini duvet, welcome to germany, great if you like...

We have stayed in this hotel for the third time and it is a very nice and clean hotel. The location is near the Museum Island and around the corner of the Friedrichstrasse. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is very good. A place to go back to.

Inexpensive and beautiful! Terrific hotel, close to shopping, public transportation and lovely restaurants. Tucked away on a quiet street in a peaceful courtyard, felt like a mindful retreat! I would recommend it 100%! Thank you!

Booked this hotel for 2 nights whilst visiting the Christmas markets. As we arrived at midnight we had arranged to collect the key from the key safe outside. The whole arrival process was simple considering there was no staff at this time of night. We were 3 women sharing and the room was huge with plenty of space for us...

Calma Mitte in Berlin is just that. Centrally located with trams and subway right outside the door, and quiet in spite of its central location. The staff is accommodating, very friendly with a high level of servicemindedness. You won't have to go far to find restaurants, and bars. Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor are just a 15 minute walk...

Nice choice with the following in its favor: Great location –vibrant East Berlin neighborhood lined with interesting art galleries, shops, attractive and high quality restaurants right around the corner (Singaporean, Vietnamese, Italian). Short walk to public transport and we struck out from there to take in countless sights and local attractions. Bustling street outside the hotel, but our rooms were...

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
