Lovely charming hostel in a multicultural surrounding! I was amazed when I discovered my cosy room with some steps ups, really nice to sleep there although it's 35°C outside (plus bed sooooo comfortable), plenty of books and queer touristic paths guides you can borrow... Even can borrow an umbrella ;). The hostess is super friendly and gives the best tips for the surroundings, nice breakfast. OK, the toilet and shower have to be shared, but there were just around the corner, shower room so big and bright, actually much bigger than in some "classical" hotels, very clean - I guess all the guests traveling here share values of courtesy and open-mindness. Summary: best place ever! I know what I'll book for my next trip in Berlin -by the way, calling directly. THANK YOU!
I only stayed for 1 night - loved to stay longer and I surely will return. What An attention for detail and ambiance! Unique - unexpected. Moreover it felt comfortable and like home. Great welcome and I truly regret not being able to have breakfast. The location is superb; close to shops / cafés / restaurants / public transport Tip; take a stroll over the turkish market. Pizza at Il Cassolare. Ladies only; visit the nearby hamam (check my review)
A great experience once found (it is 20m right of the door with 89 on). Clean room, very quiet, good bath and a very, very nice hostess. The wifi was strong. The breakfast equally strong and excellent. Hard to point a finger at anything here, not even the price of € 45 for one night incl. breakfast; simply Lekker... The area is interesting. Close to the Spree and the Weserstrasse, it offers a variety of cheap international restaurants and bars. You don't need to go far to be entertained and fed. I went 100m to the left out of the entrance and found superb Asian restaurant with great sushi (1 drink, miso soup, a beer and a duck-curry for less than € 20). 5 mins away from the Kottbusser Tor station (not that nice but close) makes logistics work, even if you come from marvelous Schönefeld Airport...(I loathe that place...).…
I've stayed at Lekkerurlaub numerous times. For me it represents the best kind of budget accommodation. Sure you have to share a (very clean) bathroom and some of the beds aren't as comfy as others but Kathrin is a wonderful host who goes massively out of her way to help her hosts. What's more all the rooms are v comfortable while also quirky and there is a very generous spread for breakfast every day even if you're the only person in the hotel! The Wifi is also v good and there's an honesty fridge of cold drinks. The area around the hotel is one of Berlin's liveliest with any number of restaurants, bars and cafes within a few minutes walk. All in all you probably won't do much better than this, and certainly not at tge price Kathrin offers. Go.
Very cool place! Spent here four nights, in a double bedroom with shared bathroom & shower which was actually super clean. Our room was cozy and quiet, even if it faced the street. Very good wi-fi and great breakfast! Kathrin is a very open minded and friendly owner who gave us some good tips on where to eat. There's a grocery only a few minutes from the hostel, two metro stations, and plenty of places to eat out.
Had a great time. The hostel is designed very well and feels like your favorite coffee shop; the room was small and cozy, the shared bathroom are super clean and the breakfast deserves five stars. Will defiantly return.
We stayed there for 5 days with a friend and we were more than satisfied! Kristin is very nice and helpful! The room, bathroom and the hostel in general was always very clean and cosy. Breakfast is included and there is a wide range of choice. Location is also great, it is a very nice area of the city, also next to a metro stop to take you into the centre in 10 minutes.
Me and my wife went to Berlin and had this amazing time with Kathrin and her staff. The room, number 7, had a big comfortable bed and a big window, so we could refresh the air inside. The place is cleaned in a regular basis and breakfast is really good, more than we were expecting. The surrounding area has everything one may need. Supermarket just around the corner, U-Bahn station a couple of minutes away and lots of bars, restaurants, liquor stores, etc. Will definitely be there again when returning to Berlin.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hostel for 7 nights and thought it was super. We were greeted by the lovely Kathrin who welcomed us, showed us around the hostel and gave us good advice on places to go and things to see. Lekkerurlaub is lovely, clean, comfortable and affordable. It's only a 5 minute walk away from the U Bahn and close to lots of restaurants and bars. The hostel had really fast wifi AND a breakfast bar full of delicious food too. It's a place I would gladly return to. Thank you Kathrin!!
Overall this place was great but the most important thing to explain is that both room 4 and room 5 have beds that you need to get to by climbing (I'm not sure if this is the case in other rooms but it is worth enquiring). We stayed in room 4 which had steep stairs leading up to the bed but there was no rail and the stairs creaked. This is no good if you want to go to the toilet in the middle of the night or if you have knee or hip problems! The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable as well so as a consequence we didn't sleep very well. Having said that, there are a lot of positives: the hostel is impeccably clean, the owner is extremely friendly, the coffee is excellent, there is free wifi which had a great connection, the shower had a rainfall head which was amazing, the decor is incredibly quirky and bright, there is an honesty bar/fridge, it's in a great location between two stops on the U8, it's close to some nice casual restaurants. They just need to sort out the mattress for future guests and advertise that some beds are only accessible by steep stairs or ladders! …
