Great hotel, just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but only a few minutes away by the number 200 bus. Good breakfast buffet. Staff friendly. Would stay again if we are visiting Berlin

Good points. * Very good location! This is former East Berlin... where you want to be in Berlin! Friendly, pleasant & quiet neighbourhood and great transport links! * Bus stop is directly outside, on 'Am Friedrichshain'. Just a couple of minutes on Bus 200 and we were in 'Alexanderplaz'! Tram stop 4-5 minutes away. * Room was good size, comfortable... More

My husband and I have just returned from three nights here. We loved our time at the hotel which was great value for what we paid. I was very impressed with our room which overlooked the courtyard on the fourth floor. It was clean and comfortable and it was a great size. The whole hotel was spotless and the staff... More

We loved our stay here, with the fantastic breakfast buffet (best buffet in all our Germany/Alsace trip). The staff were fantastic, and the location was great. Right off several public transportation options, we were able to get to/from the airport easily (even @ 5 a.m. for an early flight) and enjoyed the neighborhood shops and restaurants as well. Very upscale... More

Clean comfortable hotel, friendly staff. Our room overlooked the Park and inevitably the TV tower, which was in most views. An excellent breakfast with a vast choice. The 200 bus runs past the hotel and takes one into the centre of Berlin from where it is easy to explore. We used Victors restaurant within the hotel on a number of... More

Excellent choice of hotel for our first visit to Berlin. Caught a train from sch airport into Alexanderplatz then a tram which was only 2 stops and a short walk from the hotel. Bought daily tickets at 6 euro 90 for unlimited travel on trams, buses and trains (need to validate on day of use in machines on trams or... More

I enjoyed my stay here very much with great staff. Only problem was no air conditioning in the room and one pillow and a rather strange duvet but other than that I enjoyed my stay very much and the park on the other side of the road was lovely. Also a great bus route to most of the sights in... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
