I have never stayed at an hotel before where they refuse to give you an iron or ironing board and instead insist it is a chargeable service!!! Absolutely appalling service and now I have a business meeting to attend with a crumpled shirt

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. Kindly note that we offer an iron and ironing board every time. Our laundry service is just an additional service for our guests. We sincerely apologize for this misunderstanding and that you had such a bad experience when you stayed in our hotel. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Best regards, Your ARCOTEL Velvet Team

We arrived very early. The room was not ready, but check in and luggage store were a breeze. Because of proximity to river it was easy to orientated and find the hop on hop off bus. I loved the floor to ceiling windows and the used of gauze curtains in the wash area. Big, leakproof power shower with instant temperature control. Hotel recently refurbished. Lovely new carpet smell and plenty of power sockets. Good wife speed. Berlin was having something of a heatwave, but ac was EXCELLENT. Also in the dining area which was in part open plan to the street. The immediate street area was somewhat grubby, but with just a minute to the river this did not bother us and in fact gave us an insight into the layers of life that are Berlin. We hired bikes directly from the hotel. Brilliant city bikes with great locks. Did not check if price was competitive, but were really pleased with the bikes. The young German staff were an inspiration and a pleasure

So easy to get to from Schonefeld airport on the train.Underground station across the street. We had a spacious room at the back of the hotel.Unfortunately our view was of the other rooms and of the building site. It was fine though as the noise from the building site was minimal and we spent very little time in there.Very clean and the shower was so powerful with available toiletries and clean towels daily if needed. We really enjoyed breakfast.Selection of cereals, breads, fruit, meats, pancakes and cheeses.Plenty of places to eat in the area and walking distance into the city. The staff were very welcoming. We are hoping to return again in October and will definitely stay here.

This is a lovely hotel and I stayed here for eight nights at the end of July 2019. The friendly and professional reception staff mostly spoke excellent English and I felt like I should have been more adept at using German. The bight light rooms at the front have floor to ceiling windows, huge curtains and nets. The beds are comfortable with a single cover for each person. There's a desk space and plenty of plug sockets (outlets) for devices. The only down side for me is that the bath and sink are within the main area of the bedroom so you have to be pretty comfortable if you are sharing the room and there's was a separate toilet in the room. The friendly room cleaning teams said Hallo every morning and I only needed the room cleaning every two or three days. The air cooling unit was set to 15c most of the time and its smooth sounds helped me sleep well while it was between 19 and 34c outside. Location wise there are five or six places to eat in the immediate part of thee street for lunch and dinner and even a friendly cafe nearby should you not wish to have the breakfast at the hotel. Would stay again any time!
