We stayed three nights about a year ago in a superior room facing onto the courtyard with breakfast included. Our rate also included a 20 Euro voucher for the restaurant. Our room was clean, quiet, spacious, comfortable although quite dark, particularly when reading to plan our days. We loved the style of the hotel with items showcasing the old Siemens company, but very modern at the same time. The breakfast was excellent, had a lot of choice and was in the huge, light and airy courtyard. The staff at reception were helpful when we had questions and the computers for use free of charge in the lobby were much appreciated. Access was easy with a metro station exit less than 100 metres from the entry. This is our second stay at a Movenpick hotel, and while not cheap, both have been a wonderful treat. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to recommend.

Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel. We were in Berlin for New Year’s Eve, specially. There were no king size beds available, so we booked the twin room instead but they were able to combine the two beds together, so it was just perfect. Good location, walking distance to public transport, restaurants and shops! Breakfast was yummy with lots of variety. Staff was helpful and courteous. We had an amazing peaceful stay for 4 days in this beautiful hotel. Highly recommended!!!!

We stayed here for 3 nights this weekend. It is a beautiful hotel close to S barn. We had a double room that was large and had everything we needed, comfortable beds, luxury linen & towels. Fridge was handy. The room was cleaned daily & little extras such as chocolate by the bed was appreciated. The staff were all friendly & service was great. We drank in the bar on a few occasions & thought the prices were reasonable. We liked the free peanuts a lot ! But please longer bar opening hours! ( maybe reduced due to covid ) Overall is a great place to stay and will definitely stay here again next time we go to Berlin.

Arriving after midnight, I got an unpleasant suprise at “zhe” doorsteps of Movenpick Berlin. I rang the bell multiple times. Nobody replied/opened the door. After 7 hours of driving, not a warm welcome from a hotel that is passionate about making moments. Just saying… Puzzled by this “welcome”, I decided to give them a call. It took a while but a friendly Makram replied and openend the door. A bit upset, I asked why nobody answered the doorbell. “Well sir, you need a card to have access to the hotel.” Probably the coolsummernight messed up with my braincells…. I replied: “But how on earth do I get that card if you do not allow a customer entrance to zhe hotel?!” - Well, sir I am very sorry, but I was in the back working on different things. (ok, mr Miyagi wins in my brain, wax in...wax out) “Apologies accepted, but before we do the registration, could I visit the bathroom downstairs? I had a long drive and my bladder is in some discomfort.” - Yes, ofcourse sir. See you in a second. So after taking the stairs to the basement…..I found out that the toiletarea was closed. Oh, lucky day. Where is the hidden-camera-prank? If you ever need a moment of “oh my holy hare krishna in a hyundai”, try running up the stairs again with a full bladder under some serious tension. “Makram, the accessdoor to the toilets is closed! I need your help!” Friendly Makram ran with me down the stairs making Usain B. look like a snail to find out that the door was indeed locked. Yes, they succeeded again in making moments. Just saying…. In my room while unpacking my luggage, I tried to hang my shirts on a clotheshanger. Guess what? The first one broke down the moment I hung up my shirt. Oh boy, I can feel it coming in the movenpick-air tonight, oh lohooord. Just saying…. When I made my reservation, I made sure that I could use an iron(bugeleisen in german; funny word) and iron board. I called before travelling to Berlin and asked if it could be arranged. Friendly man, who talked like an uzi made it unmoglich to hear his name properly: “sir, when you arrive in your room, I make sure that the bugel and board will be there already.” Briljant! Passionate about making moments, it became an invisible bugel and board. Just saying….. Before going out for diner the next day, I request by phone to make it happen anyway. Friendly Paul apologised for the inconveniences and was going to take care of it jetzt. “Anything else sir?” Yes, some clotheshangers, bitte. The first I had, broke down. “Sorry to hear that sir. How many do you need?” Good man, always finding a solution right away. Within 5 minutes a friendly lady delivers zhe bugel and board and clothhangers. When I was about to iron my shirt, I found out that zhe bugel was made before zhe German wall came down. You know zhe one I mean? Yes, without waterreservoir in it! Just the iron….. Berliner Zeitung: “Movenpick Berlin never misses an opportunity to make a moment.” Just saying…. So picture this: a 4 star hotel where you are about to start to iron a shirt with a glass of water. Can you already feel it coming in “zhe” movenpick air? Two of the feet of the bord were broken and the moment I threw some water on my shirt and did the first strike with my pre-berlinwar-bugel(oh no don’t mention the war Fawlty)…the board lost its balance because of the broken legs and my glass of wasser dropped on zhe carpet! Paul, ich brauch dich! Ich brauch du nicht. Ich will dich nicht verlieren! Ofcourse friendly Paul made zhe problem go away. A new board and a 21st century bugel was sent pronto upstairs with the most friendly woman of Bogota. She should be into customer service, not housekeeping. After diner I arrive back at zhe hotel. Friendly Paul introduces himself and starts a small chat. “Yes sir, I heard the whole story incl yesterdays arrival. You stay till next Friday, is that correct? - Yes Paul, that it be. Paul continues: “Would you like to have breakfast for tomorrowmorning?” Lost coronaparticles stuck behind my facemask must have eaten some of my leftover braincells moment…is Paul trying to cross-sell me a Fruhstuck? Why on earth would I want to have breakfast for tomorrow morning if I booked 7 nights without zhe Fruhstuck?(Germanvocabulary improved a bit the past 7 years) “Oh no sir, I mean because of all that happened I would like to…. - Omg mister problemsolver, is this how you introduce a happy-meal-moment aka small gesture? Next time try first introducing the “happy-meal-moment”? No Paul, I’m not interested in your free breakfast! I do want something else from you though(tension rising moment) I don’t want any other customer to experience XXXX encounters like the past 18 hours unworthy of zhis hotelbrand. My son is about to join me Monday but I serious doubt now if I want him to encounter any of this “upscale hospitality” that make good old Basil Fawlty look like a “Bratwurst.” "Douze points" goes to: A lady from Vietman who cleaned the room like a tornado. Such a friendly and warm person. And she could even speak German. Frau “Wehrt”, danke schön! You got me smiling again. "Yes we can!" PS: the gym is moved from the groundfloor to the cellar. They forgot to take the airco to the cellar. Just saying….

We arrived at this hotel hot & tired after slow but comfortable train journey from Dresden. We ate in the spacious restaurant, after checking in to the hotel. The food was delicious, our party consisted of 3 omnivores, 1 pescatarian, 1 vegan & 1 lactose intolerant. Our food was lovely and served fairly promptly despite it being around 4.30 - 5pm and the restaurant being relatively empty. Being on old factory there is a lot of space in this hotel, the lobby and restaurant are large, spacious, cool & inviting. The lobby staff are excellent & arranged taxi's back to the airport for those of our party leaving the next day. My wife & I stayed for another 4 days and had a brilliant time. We would recommend this hotel, it's lovely to stay in after experiencing the bustling friendly city (and hot in late July) that Berlin is.
