The staff were very kind and helpful especially when booking tours. The room was clean and a good size! I would recommend anyone to stay there but it is especially good for those who are travelling and visiting Berlin as part of a big trip. But it is a hostel that could work for anyone.

This was my first time staying at a hostel and it turned out to be wonderful. The staff was really nice and helpful, the room I stayed at (private room with bathroom) was small, but clean with a very comfy bed. The sound isolation could be better and at the arrival there was quite a long line so you should... More

Great hostel more like a hotel but could do with air conditioning in rooms. The bathrooms could be cleaned and all showers working also but other than that perfect for a solo city break. It is real close to the s41 and s42 ring bahn trains.

I stayed here recently whilst traveling across Europe. It was a pretty basic bog standard hostel recently, nothing special but wasn't bad either. They stop serving food fairly early, but if you get desperate there are nearby places to eat. My biggest qualm was the storage units. They were little caged under the bed that you padlock closed. Whilst they... More

This hostel was very cheap, but clean and well equipped. I have no problems with it, it was a bit basic and fairly far from the centre of Berlin, but it was so cheap that this can be overlooked. Wi-Fi is good, there's a nice bar round the back. It is right next to the train station to get into... More

The hotel is really near to the train and tram stations, a few stop from Alexanderplatz, so it's really easy to travel through the city from there. In the other hand the train is kind of noisy, so for someone it can be bothering (i like noisy places so it was totally ok for me). I took a private room... More

This place is such a joke. I came here with my sister to stay. We stayed on the 6th floor in a private room. We stayed a total of 3 nights. We arrived on a Thursday night and were going to sleep around 11.30pm at night, I could not believe that the noise levels were so high. It was ridiculous... More

I really enjoyed the service at the generator hostel bar. Friendly motivated bartenders who are ready to go the extra mile. Especially Aki, Amy and Stef were really awesome and fit to the hostel. If you like to drink one or more beer this is your place to go!

My friend and I stayed at a private twin room, and we chose this hostel because we've been to other Generators around the world, which were really very nice! For our disappointment, the hostel in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg was far from what we expected. The toilets were extremely dirty, the bathroom had no actual mirrors (it's something like an aluminum... Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
