This was our first trip back to Berlin in 25 years. The hotel was in a great location. Concierge was fantastic giving us tips on where we should go. restaurant in hotel also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will visit again.
We stayed here in August 2014 Monday - Friday. It really was first class, everything was good. Staff, room, room view (7th floor), decor, breakfast, bar, location - everything!
I would (and already have) highly recommend this hotel to people considering visiting Berlin.

Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop
down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. However, we chose to have breakfast outside of the hotel each morning. There are several breakfast options within a 5min walk. We ate at the Café Lebensart which serves a great breakfast (try the pancakes with banana) and also the Sony Center has a few places. Try using this website for more breakfast options near the hotel. Either way, breakfast at the hotel is NOT economical nor good value.
Our Room with city view had a stand-up shower with both overhead and a hand-held shower.
