The minus: the room and the bed were uncomfortable. The plus: the neighborhood is eclectic, artsy and the restaurants were good, close to a train station. They did offer a decent breakfast. While I would stay in this neighborhood again, I wouldn't necessarily stay in this hotel again.

Stayed with a group of 12 for a stag. Rooms were really comfortable and value for money. The beds were singles pushed together so this worked for us. Good central location in Mitte also. There are good views from the top floor rooms.

The location is a killer, near public transportation and fun restaurants. We stayed in rooms overlooking an internal patio, so the earplugs in the closet weren't in useThe hotel is a bit shabby and the beds were way to soft for my liking.

The room was extremely warm, it was practically impossible to sleep during the night, there is no A/C and basically no isolation. Since the street is quite busy at night it was also not possible to open the window (we have to chose: the noise or to sweat). After complanining the second day we got a fan (why not giving... More

Literally a 30 second walk to orienburger strabe station or a 10 - 20 minute walk everywhere if you don't want to catch trains. Had no air con and was very hot but they gave us a fan which helped. Check in is two but we got there at 1 and room was ready so they let us come in.... More

I found this hotel by accident last year, appreciated my stay then, and returned for several days in June this year. The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable. There's always someone at the front desk to answer questions or help with arrangements. The clerk called a taxi for me, and it was there in minutes. The rooms are... More

This is a small, comfortable hotel in a lovely part of Berlin. It's in a very central, but pretty and quiet street, with lots of galleries, cafes and restaurants in walking distance. Rooms are nice and light, beds comfy. There's a breakfast buffet and you can eat it in the bar or in the courtyard. Staff are friendly and helpful.... More

We booked an inexpensive room for two nights and were delighted to get a little suite on the 1st floor with dining area and kitchen. We hadn't planned to cook our own meals, but certainly could have done. We took the excellent hotel breakfast in a sunny courtyard. The hotel is situated close to an S-bahn station and bus stops... Stayed here for six nights. Rooms were simple, straightforward, clean. Great little breakfast buffet in the cafe next to the hotel. Great location as well. Many cafes, bars, restaurants, and sights within walking distance. Hotel was close to many metro stations as well. No A/C, and I was there in August. It got quite hot, but we kept windows open... This hotel was near the Friedercikstrasse ave. and a block and a half away from Oranienburgerstrasse. This is the metro station you want to use to get to the hotel since the Berlin Friederickstrasse train station is a little bit farther away. This is just a regular hotel, but with a nice breakfast spread, which is not included. Room was... More

Dear caro298, Thank you very much for your pleasant review and taking the time to write it. I was happy to read your comment that our hotel Augustinenhof was conveniently located. I have to agree, it is quite central and within a quarter full of history and with a lively art scene. Most of Berlin’s sights and attractions are within... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
