Stumbled on the hotel when looking for a short stay with my son during the Covid crisis. Location is fantastic with everything in walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff and very nice rooms. Metro around the corner, bus stop just outside and the Sony Centre across the street. Highly recommended!

Where to start? Pictures online do not represent the shape of this hotel. The rooms are old and they smell, especially the bathroom. We had an Executive Suite and should already have been suspicious by the relatively small price compared to the other 5* hotels in the area. Reception slow and very small, but the offputting smell and the 3* interior of the room made us leave the hotel after 30 min. The Grand Hyatt nearby where we stayed at more than once is also not the latest anymore - but compared to Mandala worlds better! I have no idea how the rating here and on other portals came to be. We wanted to have dinner at their 2* Facil restaurant - but also cancelled this after this experience.

Great hotel in a great location. Hotel look and feel is very chic and modern and the quality is superb. Not a boutique hotel, but staff and service is still great. Location is walking distance from lots of tourist spots.

The breakfast was definitely not 5 star quality. Very limited chice, every day the same, miniature portions. We ordered ham and cheese for 2 people and they bring us 1 small piece of cheese/ham per person (it happened every day). For the price of the breakfast it was like a bad joke. When you ask something extra, you have to wait for a long time. Waiting for everything, even for a clean table for about 30 minutes, When you are on a trip, you have some daily schedule, so you don´t want to spend all morning on breakfast. And you definitely don´t want to go from breakfasf hungry. In this hotel is 2 Michelin star restaurant, bud they can not even make pancakes or eggs properly (pancakes undercooked, not fluffy, scrambked eggs greasy).

We stayed for one night during a business visit to Berlin. Arriving by car, we had identified a convenient underground parking with direct access to the hotel. A pity that, like half the german autobanhs, the garage was under some major renovation and the signposting to the Mandala not very effective. We ended up dragging up our luggage three stories to street level and across a sidestreet to the hotel entrance. Reception staf were friendly. Room turned out to be roomy, modern en spotless. The one thing we would suggest to make it even better would be a Nespresso machine rather than the instant coffee provided. We had dinner at the Facil restaurant in the hotel. Food was top notch, as were the wine advice and service. A very pleasant evening indeed! We slept fine in a comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning was a disappointment: though served in the same restaurant Facil, it would have had no chance competing with even a very modest B&B. The omelettes we ordered had nothing to do with the thick, soft, fluffy dish that one expects, but were flat, thin, tasteless pancake-like things Rolls were dry and not very tasteful, and the fruitsalad looked and tasted like it came straight out of a tin. The only thing that scored points was an excellent croissant. All in all, a good hotel, with excellent dining, let down by a very poor breakfast of which the price was the only characteristic reminding one of 5 stars.
