Perfect location, close to the metro and the Brlo brewery. Can you ask for more? Rooms are nice and clean, the breakfast is ok and if you are tired of Brlo, there's a small restaurant... but really can you be tired of Brlo?
Location is in a quiet area, though handy for the three U-Bahn lines at nearby Gleisdrieck station. We selected it for proximity to the BRLO brewery, but theere are no bars/restaurants in the local area. Check in seemed to take an age, and I'm not sure why, but it may be due to the BRLO brewery. LCAH drinks vouchers proactively offered and immediately used on the bottle bar adjacent to reception. Difficult to tell how old the room furnishings are. They have a slightly bizarre scrubbed wood effect. The bed was comfortable, but the mattress sat in a wooden base (rather than on a base) which made getting out of bid or sitting on nit slightly uncomfortable. The bathroom was a very good size and comfortable to use. Really one of the best Mercure bathrooms I've ever used. Didn't use restaurant/breakfast. Over two nights we were the only people using the bar. Would happily return, and the ultimate test was I'd take my S.O or mother there too!…
I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past few months, and, while it is a very good mid-range option in Central Berlin with comfortable, quiet rooms, the thing that really stands out is the excellent service provided by the staff. I especially want to recognize the front office manager (man) and housekeeping manager (woman) - I wish I had asked their names, but I didn't think to at the time. Both went well beyond the call of duty to help me with difficult problems. In the first case, The front office manager forced through a resolution of a long running, infuriating problem I had with Club Accor who had frozen my account and refused to unfreeze it. In the second case, the housekeeping manager dealt with an unruly guest who had been smoking pot in his room day and night for a week, against all rules, and really stunk up an entire corner of the building. What was outstanding about both of them is that they acknowledged the problem immediately and took executive action to resolve it promptly. Such a level of personal responsibility is all to rare in the hospitality industry. I am glad to see that it is still prized at this hotel.…
First of all the location is excellent, a few minutes' walk from Potsdamer Platz and what's awesome; the U2 line station righ across the street, technische museum in the same block and a fa-tas-tic restaurant BRLO a block away. You really can't beat that combination. What surprised me in a good way were the ultra-comfortable beds. The room was a bit on the warm side, which I actually like, and comforters are really thick and warm. Perfect for a wintertime visit. The hotel bar is quite nice, and offers sports events on tv if you're into that sort of thing. Also really tasty snacks. Staff was really friendly, but not overly so, which was nice.
A very pleasant hotel just 20 mins walk from Potsdammer Platz, good value in the hotel bar, little limited menue but fine for the odd evening meal, bar staff very helpful, rooms clean and modern, breakfast, again really good. We will return to both Berlin and this hotel, thank you.
