We spent 5 days at KG Apartments and what a find. The apartment was massive and had everything you needed, washing machine, dishwasher, full kitchen, balcony, free wifi, dining room and lounge room. It was in a loverly neighborhood and a 5 min tram ride in Alexanderplatz. The apartment was huge and so comfortable. The manager Andrej was so nice...

Delightful one week stay in this two bedroom apartment on the top floor of the building. Lift partway and easily manageable stairs the remainder. We were greeted warmly and shown all the amenities of the apartment. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was provided, including washing machine powder! The apartment is in beautiful trendy Prenzlaberg. Small markets close by, cafes,...

We stayed here with our three children and this place is definitely a favourite. We wouldn't look anywhere else if we return. Very clean, spacious, close to supermarkets and restaurants, and easily accessed by public transport. The manager was most helpful. Thank you for a great stay in Berlin.

I stayed there for two nights in late August 2012. The rooms are large. The kitchen and bathroom were both quite modern. The combined living room and bedroom was quite large but without much furniture. There was no desk and no chair - only a sofa and a coffee table. The hotel does not offer any meals but there are...

Alright but you can do better in Berlin. Our apartment smelled of humidity & dampness. Bathroom was so tiny that it was unconfortable. The other rooms were fine. We were supposed to get a type 2 apartment but I think we got a type 1. Anyway, it didn't look like the web pictures. Cheap Ikea furniture look. The kitchen is...

We were a party of 5 adults and a baby, and we had a lovely stay at the KG apartment. We had an apartment with 2 bedrooms and a nice sitting area with a comfy sofa bed. A cot was provided for my baby. There were stairs in our apartment however there was a child safety gate, which was a...

Great apartment in Prenzlaur. Newly refurbished. New washing machine. Huge place for my friend and I. He got the bedroom and I slept on the sleeping couch. Clean, modern, love the neighborhood. Andresj and his wife Magdalena were lovely. Totally professional and courteous. They even provided soap for the washing machine which I don't usually see. We got the apartment...

My husband and I spent a week in Berlin as part of his work and took our 6 month old daughter with us. The apartment was a fantastic option. It's in a quieter, more suburban, part of Berlin that is full of people with kids so there are lots of cafes that cater for kids (and, importantly, with room for...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
