When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit
buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.

It all depends on what you call nearby. The hotel plaza has a wonderful little bar that serves awesome real ales. If you turn right ou the hotel and walk to the next manu junction, as you stand at the lights you will see a curry house across the road, to your left there is a bar with very comfy leather seats for you to have a drink in. If you are looking for a more range of beer, then you are best getting the underground to alexanderplatz, it’s a direct train and there are mlulitple bars around, a beautiful place to eat is called andy’s Diner. Beautiful food and great prices, very much value for money. Another option is to go into the city centre, the green line and get off at Kurfürstendamm and then make your way to the Berlin zoo. Next to the zoo is a hotel, enter the lobby and go to the top floor, it is called the monkey bar, you can sit overlooking the zoo and the beers in there are wonderful. Usually the prices are around €5 each for a pint. The dark beers are the best to me
