I stayed here with my daughter for five nights recently and was really impressed. It was easy to get to, being close to the station. When we first looked at our rooms I thought that they reminded me of student halls and were too basic. However by the end of our stay I felt that they were ideal for what... More

I spent three night with other two persons. We occupied a three-bed-room. It was very confortable, kept clean and the crew is very kind. The reception is open 24h. It is situated in the middle of Kreuzberg, next to Mehringdamm's underground stop. Near the hotel there is a lot of currywurst, such as the famous Curry 36, and restaurants and... More

We take our students twice a year to Berlin and stay at Hotel Transit, we have tried others and this beats the rest hands down. It is, what you see is what you get! High to the ceilings and white walls with a splash of blue or red curtains depending on the rooms. Rooms vary in size according to the... More

We got the last double in the hotel, which fills up on spring weekends and empties out on Sunday afternoon. It is clean, located close to a metro in Kreuzberg (a short subway ride from many Berlin tourist spots), and comes with an excellent breakfast. The desk staff was helpful and pleasant. The hotel is funky in an industrial way,... More

Booked a double room for myself and my girlfriend. The price came out to about $186 Euros for three nights so very reasonable. The room and bathroom were clean and beds comfy. The common area is really nice and a cool place to hang out. The breakfast was also really great. My only criticism was that our room was really... More

This hotel is excellent! The staff are incredibly helpful. Excellent value for money and great breakfast. Great location. Everything about this place was great! Nice chill out area. Funky design. If you're looking for a good pub, head to Distille across the road - probably not suitable for people who do not like smoking! You will not be disappointed here.

Go By Bike went to Berlim, Germany to find out what the best things about bike business are among the german companies. We stayed at Transit hotel and we just loved it. The service , the food, the room, everything was spot on. Totally recommended.

I first stayed at the Hotel Transit in 1992, months after they first opened the doors... and each experience has been overwhelmingly positive! I always have a lovely time here, the staff is agreeable and friendly and willing to provide information about Berlin, and the breakfast is fantastic, available until 12pm! The location in Kruezberg can't be beat and each... More

We had a fantastic stay in the Transit Hotel in berlin recently. The rooms are small, but neat and clean and cosy. We had a fantastic balcony. It is central and situated in a lovely area... close to the U-bahn. The communal area is also really cosy and the staff friendly and helpful!

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
