Since 2001 we’ve been standing proud on Rosenthaler Platz, the mothership of The Circus overlooking one of Berlin’s busiest squares. You’ll find us in the heart of a lively nightlife and cultural scene in the centre of Berlin and within walking distance of many of the city’s famous sights. There’s always something going on thanks to our regular programme of tours and events to help you experience the best of Berlin, and not only do we have our own microbrewery producing excellent craft beer but The Circus Hostel is also home to the one and only Hoff Museum, dedicated to the man himself.

Lovely room and great facilities- very spacious and was very clean. Only downside was walking to the bathroom in darkness. I get saving electricity, but it was so creepy, even in the daytime. Also tram stop right outside. Would defo return though. Thanks!

Property's Favorite Review
The rooms are very spacious and everything is very clean, the bathrooms are impeccable. Definitely enjoyed the privacy of the beds in the dorms, however my USB plug never worked. Great lobby and nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Location is really good - right next to the metro station and the tram stop. Only 2 metro stations away from Alexanderplatz and 10 minutes away from the Central Station by direct tram. However, dorms have no AC and you have to sleep with the windows open in summertime. It gets really noisy at night with all trams passing by every couple of minutes. Be sure to bring some earplugs. Also, there’s no kitchen if you’re looking for that and the breakfast selection is kinda poor but has the basic stuff

We enjoyed our time at the circus hostel due to the modern facilities and cool theme of the hotel. The buffet breakfast (although continental) was very good and had alot of selection! However, there needs to be air con during the summer ... it's SO HOT in the rooms and it would really make the biggest difference. You can also hear the rumbling and sirens of the trams/cars every minute as the hostel is on a very busy street. The social events each night are also lacking and there should be a pub crawl organised to engage guests more.. you would think this would be done too, especially considering it's Berlin and the bar down stairs that seems to not get used a lot. It's a bit of a shame and it really just felt like a budget hotel. I wouldn't stay there again but it was a decent stay.

This is a really nice hostel and is pretty central. Really close to Alexanderplatz and public transport is really accessible from it. The rooms are really clean and the same with the bathrooms. The cafe downstairs is really cheap and is handy for a quick bite to eat or coffee. Wifi is really good also. We stayed in a private twin room so I’m not sure what the dorm rooms are like. However if you are looking to cook your own food in this hostel there is no kitchen. There is also not really a proper communal area to hang out. It kind of is more like a basic hotel than a hostel. If you are looking for a real hostel experience I’d say look elsewhere however it was a really nice place to stay none the less.

This was my second choice as the original hostel cancelled my reservation as they were housing Ukraine refugees. This is a very clean hostel, modern and updated. The lounge is cosy, clean and nice to sit and enjoy. The breakfast ( around €8, all you can eat) is good with ample selections. They don't have a guest kitchen but you can store your food in their fridge. The tram and bus stop is just outside, so it's very convenient. Overall a great place to stay while in Berlin.

Fantastic hostel in a great central location. Easy to locate with a warm environment. Staff are extremely friendly, getting you in-the-know of all the events at the hostel, the facilities and offering you a welcome drink in the basement bar. The commons area is very cozy where you can comfortably work, socialize and just relax after a long day of exploring Berlin. The breakfast offered next-door has a good variety with clean tables and all you need to have a good time. Rooms are well-kept, funky and bathrooms were clean.

I couldn’t be more grateful to the cleaning staff at this hostel. I love to travel but my autism often makes it difficult staying in hostels, everything was so clean though I actually enjoyed my showers every day! I’ve never felt so comfortable in a hostel. I also really appreciate that I could open the windows in the dorm, which I haven’t been able to do in so many other hostels. The shower was also a proper high pressure shower that ran for as long as I wanted it to, I didn’t have to keep pressing a button to turn it back on!! The place wasn’t too social during the day, a few great social areas but they were mostly occupied by people working on laptops. Up until around 7pm it actually felt more like a hotel, which is either a good or bad thing depending on what you’re looking for. The bar downstairs was a great place for meeting people in the evenings though and everyone in my dorm was super friendly, I loved Karaoke night! As long as you have the confidence to say ‘hey, are you going out tonight’ you shouldn’t have any problems making friends haha! Thank you for a great stay!

The hostel was nice but the absolute hidden gem is the Bar downstairs…René is an absolute wizard alchemist behind the bar, him along is the reason to stay here. His hospitality made my stay an absolute pleasure. Be sure to pay him a visit while in a Berlin.

First time travelling solo in a hostel. I have to say it was one of the best travel I've experienced so far. The bedrooms are big and everyone has his own personal space. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and the lockers are spacy enough to put everything in. The hostel is modern and secure. The personnel is very sympathetic, welcoming and helpful (from the reception desk to the basement bar and the café). Definitely an address to look at when going to Berlin !

We visited the basement bar as they brew their own beer. Seasonal brew when we visited was a dark winter beer which was very tasty. The bartender was superb, very friendly and knowledgable. Great sociable atmosphere with lots of seats at the bar, cool tunes. Bonus that the David Hasselhoff museum is in the same building!
