The hostel was clean and reaally calm (you are not allowed to talk after 10pm) but the receptionists were really awful and so disagreeable with not only us but every customer. We had to leave earlier for a family matter and told them 48h before, they treated us as liars and reimbursed just 10% of our stay. I mean, shouldn't...

We booked to stay at Baxpax hostel (now located @ Die Fabrik) for two reasons - LOCATION & KITCHEN! It had neither of these. After a long day of travelling and being directed to the wrong location we finally arrived at Baxpax/Die Fabrik. Upon arrival we were overcharged, after connecting to the wifi and showing my booking and the actual...

And with nightmare I mean I literally got nightmare from staying here. Here's what happened: 1. We went as a group of 30 people. We booked some 3 and 8 beds rooms and only half of us got to stay in the room we booked. The rest of us had to sleep with some strangers because there was a double...

I stayed in this hostel for two nights with a group of friends, all students, and we found the rooms very comfortable, but the bathroom was a huge problem - being very, very far from our room (on the same floor, but it was quite a walk to get to the toilet and showers). And when you finally get there,...

We stayed here for one night when attending the Sunday of lollapollooza. The room was very spacious and beds firm but comfy. Shared bathrooms were clean and showers hot and powerful. We slept well. A special mention for Stephan.. The charismatic, well travelled and learned legend who checked us in, made us laugh and span some fine tales from his...

We've been to Die Fabrik a couple of times now. It's always lovely staying there. The staff is so nice and always willing to help. We had some great conversations with our night guard, shout out to him. It's not luxury and the beds are a bit hard, but for a city trip it's all you need. The only thing...

Spending a few nights with wife and colegue, it was pleasure to stay there. It was close to fair I attended. Close to some great Berlin bars like Wild at Heart. Had a nice breakfest in bar at the ground floor.

The service was very good and the beds were clean and comfortable. We were able to get a room for 6 all together which was nice. It was quiet, safe, clean, fun. Good area to stay in for night life, off the beaten path a little but only a 10-15 minute train ride right to museum island/ other main attractions...

If you are looking for a good hotel, good in quality to price relation. This is a good hotel to choose. In a way it is Berlin style as it was a former factory. High ceilings. Clean and very good location.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our House - an old factory building from the turn of the century - was restored and developed in 1995. The typical Berlin-Kreuzberg charme of a brick building has been retained with light, spacious rooms and a courtyard garden. On each floor you can find large bathrooms. To maintain a private atmosphere we do not have TV or telephone in the rooms. International calls can be made at any time in the lobby. Our rooms are bright, spacious and very quiet. For your convenience you can book single and double accomodation or rooms for more than two people.Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the FABRIK-CAFÉ. Our hotel is located near the old and new center of the city. ... more   less
