How can you resist a city that is 24/7 full of things worth seeing, flavors and sounds? In which everything is on the move, in which new things are constantly developed and others discovered. The DORMERO Hotel Berlin Ku'damm, located just a few meters from the famous boulevard “Kurfürstendamm”, is like the city itself – a balance between classical and modern design, trend and mainstream, globetrotter and fashionist. The boutique hotel is a fantastic blend of originality and contrast, matched with black color. A brave individualism in form and style that fulfills the individual needs of the guest. The previously Bohemian architecture was shaped into an unconventional frame redefining the traditional concept of the hotel. A hotspot in Berlin that offers unique and constantly changing experiences that are absolutely worth living.

As the name indicates, the hotel is close to the Kurfürstendamm, yet in a quiet street; it sits in a refurbished old building, fitted with new interior. When you arrive (or leave), you might have to wait for the receptionist, or call – I found him away on calls twice during my one-night stay. The rooms have a decent size, with a pretty new & stylish interior; those to the back face the courtyard (I had no problems with noise from the breakfast). The beds are good; the curtains are good but do not fully blank out the light (top not covered), and the doors not well sound-isolated (you hear the corridor), so still not a perfect night’s sleep… The switching of the lights is a bit confusing; there are also no reading lights at the bed. The TV was not working; Wifi worked well, though. The building wraps around a partially covered courtyard, which invites ‘lounging around’ – it has a really nice atmosphere. The building also offers free amenities like sauna, gym, and a pool table (in a room off the courtyard). Breakfast is served in the courtyard; choice was reasonable, and you can make yourself fresh waffles.

The hotel is well located, in a quiet, tree-lined street, near the U-Bahn station (Augsburger Str.) which gives you easy access to most of Berlin. The Zoologischer Garten (another communication hub in Berlin) was 5 minutes walk away, it was perfect. The hotel is modern, and a bit funky in a very nice way. We got a very nice room (#414), it had a very big TV, and it rotated, so you could see it from the bed or the sofa. The bathroom was very comfortable and very clean. The mini bar was included (very uncommon). Movies were also included. The bed was incredibly comfortable. It has been one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in many. The personnel was extremely helpful, spoke excellent English, and always smiling and ready to help.

We have just returned from a 2 nights stay at the Dormero hotel. The hotel is perfectly placed to explore Berlin, the hotel is clean, breakfast is lovely with plenty of choice, the staff are very friendly and helpful specially the young dark haired lady on the front desk (usually working the evenings) she could not do enough for us. Also loved the hotel cat : )

We stayed three nights. Previously known as the Brandenburgerhof, this hotel has fallen on hard times. Bad attitude from staff and non existent manager. NO HAIRDRYER in room ( a first!), poor lighting, shabby furnishings, no closet pole in ( 2nd) closet and non working television. We negotiated 10% off our price and were told the bill «  included the discount. « I had a « hold amount charged to my credit card the DAY BEFORE I arrived. Another first. Check your bill very carefully on departure. This hotel has a wonderful location but that does not justify the careless, cavalier attitude displayed all over. Go elsewhere.

Staff at reception was not very friendly, with exception of one. Aircondition was not working and athough we asked them two days in a row to have a look at it, nothing was done. No kettle or coffee in room and to buy from restaurant is very expensive. Room was spacious and very neat and serviced every day. Bonus is the free drinks in the fridge every day.
