The lobby is really nice, very close to u-Bahn station and large department store. Bed was comfortable and room is nice size. No fridge and no outlets next to bed. The only outlets were by the door and in the bathroom. Also the internet is passworded and you have 24 hrs for each password so it is kind of annoying... More

It was a great pleasure for me to stay at the Sorat Ambassador Hotel for two nights. It is probably a large hotel, but maintains a warm friendly family feeling. It is in a very central location, BUT also very quiet because Bayreuter Strasse is a cul-de-sac and there is hardly any traffic, and would be good for people travelling... More

The hotel is ok. It's clean and tidy but the rooms are so small. When we stayed it was 35 degrees and boy do you feel it! No air con is a big minus! The bathroom was ok again basic. The location is good it's right near wittenbergplatz U Bahn which takes you all over the city. It's also right... More

Hotel facade and reception area gives the impression that this hotel is modern and somewhere you wouldn't think twice about staying. However the corridors, doors and entire room needs upgrading. Yellow, green and orange gave the rooms a tired look. Staying for five nights we were given a fourth floor room. Upon going to the room for the first time... More

The Sorat may be a little old fashioned but don't let that colour your judgement. The staff are very helpful (in patricular Llenora and Dimitrius). The rooms are very comfortable and clean. It is located within easy walking distance of the famous Kurfurstendam. There are some local restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket close to hand which are well worth visiting.... More

The hotel is quite Central to Bahnhof Zoo and Kurfuerstendamm. Staff is very helpful with everything you need. Can't judge the breakfast, because there are so many nice bakeries, that there is no need to pay more to eat in the hotel. Rooms are a bit dated and have seen better times. Still ok though.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our time here. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff are very friendly and were helpful in answering all our questions. The welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch. We would stay here again.

Having stayed here twice before we found the location to be great and the hotel basic but it met our needs. On arrival this time we were greeted at reception and told we had been upgraded to a comfort room, (room 315). On entering the room it was very hot indeed and the room looked modern. On closer inspection there... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
