Big room, very clean, great shower and bathroom. Breakfast excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful with perfect English. Lots of shops and restaurants on the same street. Very close to the Hermannplatz U-bahn station. About 30 minutes to Hauptbahnhof by train - slightly longer late at night so we took a cab to get there, which cost about E20. Even... More

We stayed here a couple nights in August. My wife and I were both quite satisfied with the hotel. We picked this hotel because of free parking (which was great) and because it was close to a subway station. We found the location was a bit farther away from the main tourist attractions than we would have preferred but it... More

I have stayed comfortably many times at this hotel. Amongst many possibilities of activities & places to eat, Karstadt Departmant store is very nearby where amongst other things one can get good inexpensive meals and a view from the excellent roof top self service restaurant.

Room fine, breakfast excellent, hotel in good position near U-bahn station. Good breakfast with eggs, meat, cheese, smoked salmon, fruit salad, cakes etc. There is a small bar where you can get a drink any time of day or night.

Hotel is a good value located centrally with good transportation options; room kind of Spartan but clean ; the service was acceptable and the breakfast brunch buffet was really nice. Be advised it does not have air conditioning which is really not advertised which is fine as long as you avoid the hot months; can't be noisy in the front... More

This hotel represents an excellence in Berlin. It is near the tube and the bus station, it offers rich breakfast and it has a prepared staff. During my permanence, I felt like home. I hope I will return there when I will be in Berlin.

Traveled to Berlin with my husband and our two teenagers for four days. Great locations next to subway. Easy access to airport ( Schonefeld) with the subway (and a short bus from airport to subway station. The bus stops in front of the airport) Great breakfast.Totally worth the value, with possibility to have family room for 4 and plenty of... More

The staff were welcoming and friendly upon arrival, and a quick check in. The room and ensuite were clean, all I need in a room. The breakfast (only meal the hotel provides) had an extensive selection of cheeses, meats, breads and fruit. Plenty of vegetarian options (yogurts, fruit, cereal etc, but maybe lacking slightly in vegan options but local stores... More

The location of the hotel was ideal - a minute walk to the Hermannplatz subway which takes you quickly into town. The hotel is surrounded by busy cafes and restaurants - I recommend the HAMY cafe (Vietnamese) and the Indian Dhaba Mitra, both budget/vegetarian friendly and very very good. The hotel's staff were beyond helpful. They answered every question and... More

Ludwig van Beethoven is great option if you are looking for quiet, and quite simple place. This hotel is maybe not the fanciest places, but is comfortable and clean - I think it's the most important thing. My bed was nice and tidy. Room was quite spacious, with free bottled water. Furniture definitely was not the newest but there was... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
