Very impolite and unfriendly front desk staff, especially the big man on the desk in the evenings who treats guests like an annoyance when they make a simple request like a later check-out time (after making me wait for 10 min while he took something upstairs that didn't seem urgent, he finally came back down and deigned to allow check-out at noon rather than 11:00am from the near-empty hotel). Rooms have no air-conditioning so not recommended during hot summer days. NO breakfast available except a "box" for €13 ostensibly due to Corona (but other hotels have buffets open). Wifi was nearly unusable with <1MBps download speed (see photo for screenshot of speedtest). I expected much better from a Golden Tulip having booked 2 rooms for 3 nights at €85/room/night + paying for parking.…
The bad impression from an unfriendly reception was continued by a badly cleaned room (spider nets on the ceiling and dust everywhere) and an unpleasant smell in the hallways. Fortunately my room was not on the side of the heavily trafficked road and hat a view on the nearby river.
Stayed for three nights earlier this month, due to business in the area. Hotel is in a very pretty location on the river, and the Kopenick town is a short walk away, and has a good choice of places to visit, bars & restaurants. Hotel is a basic, budget-style hotel - rooms don't have aircon, but are clean and comfortable, if a little dated. Wi-Fi worked well, but you might have to move furniture around to find accessible power outlets for your charger / laptop etc. Communal areas of the hotel are quite basic. Service from the staff was very good throughout. Breakfast buffet was pleasant, good choice of hot & cold dishes. There's also an adjoining Italian restaurant for evening meals. Price-wise, the hotel offers good value for money.
An old school hotel with really nothing to offer. Here in summer and sleep is almost impossible as there is no air-conditioning. Been travelling for work and there is no laundry service. In winter for a couple of days perhaps.
I spent 11 nights in this hotel, and whilst the staff did their best, it was very disappointed. Upon arrival their was was a smell of damp (mould) on the first floor. The bathroom had a poor smell every time you flushed. The location is good, the hotel is NOT! The WIFI is almost non existent, I was informed that whilst the WIFI okay in the rooms, it does not work in the bar/lobby.
