Friendly welcome, very close to the ZOB Main busstation. Unfortunately the curtains of the room were not able to make the room completely dark. Wished I could have turned off the sound of the air conditioning to experience complete silence.
+ Good location near bus/train station, comfortable beds, fast check-in & check-out, luggage room, sitting/bar area next to the reception, clean hotel and rooms, long breakfast hours. - Ordinary breakfast for the price, bad ventilation inside the rooms.
No frills budget hotel. Bare rooms but beds were comfortable. Small bathroom, could have been cleaner. Staff at reception were nice and helpful. Beware of the area, lots of homeless people, a shut-down U-Bahn station with no clear signage, dirty. The only reason we stayed there was that it's next door to the central bus station.
The hotel booking was made in advance as it was the close to the conference venue. However, it was not a convenient walking distance. There is no parking at the hotel and all luggage has to be carried from the public parking lot opposite to the hotel. Here the parking lots are extremely narrow making it difficult to unload luggage. No assistance is offered by the hotel staff to unload the luggage despite three staff being present at the day of check in. The hotel does not have an in-house laundry service contrary to what is advertised on the website. The hotel rates provided were not competitive to conference delegates as booked by HRS. The hotel lifts are rundown and shabby. The carpets and rooms and curtains and toilets are unclean and unpleasant. For two days I had to complain of foul odour in the corridor and lifts. This after a tiring day at the conference was unpleasant. Some of the nice things about the hotel are the proximity to the CityCube for the conference. The staff at the kiosk in the hotel are friendly and serve a few hot snacks and drinks. The breakfast on level 8 is served well and the view is pleasant. Overall I had to check out a day earlier as the hotel staff were unable to resolve the foul odour issue. I was offered free breakfast, however, I refused the same as inadequate and inappropriate redressal of the issue. No suggestion was made to offer a change of rooms till the matter was resolved. This was most inappropriate to force a guest to stay for two days without adequate amenities. I hope that the management can deal with this issue appropriately. Ideal location near all forms of transport. Comfortable rooms, superb breakfast and great service. Need some extra pillows. They were sorted out within 5 minutes of request. Staff could not have been more helpful.
