This pertains to the Hotel Allegra wing of the hotel which is across the street from the main hotel. The Good: Clean, spacious rooms, good breakfast, centrally located, relatively quiet most of the night, very friendly staff. The Bad: No AC, too noisy to leave windows open in the evening and early morning, difficult to adjust shower temp. Tips: Ask... More

Super hotel in a great location. We arrived by train and walked to the hotel (20-30mins). The overground metro was only one stop away though, €1.70, so we used this on the way back. Very friendly staff and a nice clean room. But of a whiff from the toilet, but not uncommon in Berlin I'm told, especially near the river,... More

We stayed at the Hotel Albrechtshof for 10 days in April. The location is great -- a few hundred meters from the Friedrichstrasse S-Bahn station and with lots of restaurants, bars, coffeeshops and grocery stores within a few minutes' walk. The room was large, the wifi was fast with two users, and the breakfast was excellent. We did not eat... More

We stayed here for five days last week. Excellent spacious room, quiet. Easy walking distance to Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Unter den Linden, but most of all to Friedrichstasse station (use the footbridge to save walking round to the road bridge further up) - from Friedrichstasse you can go anywhere (Potsdam, Airport, and anywhere in the city very easily). Plenty of... More

Surprised by the great service and comfortable rooms in a great, central yet quiet location in Berlin. Lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel breakfast is recommended. I would certainly come back. I think this hotel offers something for everybody.

you're fast in the city center (Friedrichstrasse) and many restaurant and bars close by. The hotel offers a good breakfast buffet. A good pizzeria is right next to Hotel. My only complaint was my noisy room.

Stayed for 3 days and found it a comfortable, quiet, clean hotel with friendly staff. Well-situated for public transport and walking. Carpets a bit tired in some areas but hey - it's an oldish building. We had a room facing into the internal courtyard which was dressed for Christmas with trees, white lights and candles - lovely. Our room was... More

Stayed here for the Berlin Marathon. The location was great because it was a short walk to the start/finish, and was also very close to the subway station (maybe a 5 minute walk), the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the middle of Berlin, located almost directly at the river Spree, we welcome you to Hotel Albrechtshof - a house with over 100 years of history in the hospitality and attentive service are paramount. Opened in 1910 by the Berlin city mission, it is now the oldest continuously operated hotel in Berlin. The most famous guest, who visited it in the course of his very varied and diverse past, was the major US civil rights activist Martin Luther King, who spoke here in 1964 with representatives of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg. Holiday in the heart of Berlin Today, our 3-star hotel offers the comfort of a city hotel in a prime location, offering guests a pleasant stay possible in the capital with his personal and loving guidance. Our hotel is located less than two minutes walk from the river Spree and the historically and still interesting Schiffbauerdamm away. Whereas in the past here many shipbuilding companies resident now many small cafes and restaurants lined up facing the river together. Even the neo-baroque "Theater am Schiffbauerdamm" in which today is one of Berlin's most famous theaters, plays the Berliner Ensemble, located not far from the hotel. At the western end of the street performance artist Ben Wagin built the "Parliament of Trees", a memorial to the victims of the Berlin Wall. The Hotel Albrechtshof the ideal starting point for exploring the City is also beyond: landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, the government district and the Museum Island is not far away, the Friedrichstrasse station is within walking distance. And due to the optimal connection to the public transport network can be found in a few minutes more attractions such as Potsdamer Platz and countless shopping locations in the city to control. Not just any hotel in Berlin ... In our house offers comfortable rooms with a fantastic view of the idyllic courtyard garden or the quiet side street and a rich buffet breakfast in the charming restaurant ALvis. You are welcome to book us as a business hotel. ... more   less
