Great location for a city break exploring Berlin, 10-15 minutes walk from Alexanderplatz or a couple of minutes walk to the nearest tram stop (tram M2) provides easy access to one of the main hubs in the city. The hotel was very clean and the room was spacious, comfortable and well laid out with a great view over the city... More

When I travel, I always stay in the ibis hotel and they are always clean and I know what to expect (the size of the room, the amazing breakfast and the cleanliness of the room). I recommend the hotel to everyone - the distance to the city center is 1km or less to the museum insel and to alexanderplatz, where... More

We booked quite a lot of Ibis hotels on our trip through Europe and were never disappointed. The hotel chain offers a good standard at affordable rates. This one is a basic hotel in a quite central location, easily accessible via public transport near Alexander Platz and a short walk from Prenzlauer Berg with it's many hip restaurants and bars.... Stayed at the Ibis for three nights in July. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre and is close to a number of restaurants. Our room was a good size with a good bathroom. The bed was really comfy and there is plenty of storage space. Air conditioning and wifi is also included in the... More

A good w/e born from a good hotel; and this is the Ibis Berlin Mitte. Room very clean and staff very affable. Near AlexanderPlatz, Ibis is very convenient to get around in every direction of the City.

Stayed here recently on a business trip, basic, clean, pretty comfy bed, good if you want a place sleep and wash, very sparse basic amenities, with tiny bath towels??? Need two to dry yourself properly. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you want a quieter night.

Have stayed here a few times and do like Ibis. Room reasonable size, adequate not luxurious and usually a space to store luggage rather than on the floor or bed, something many hotels do not have. Double door helps with soundproofing. Air conditioned but only works when your room card is inserted in the power slot. Excellent location in Prenzlauerbeg... More

Ideal for what we were after, fairly central and 10/15 minutes walk to a big square with lots of places to eat etc. 10 minutes taxi to the Brandenburg Gate. 24 hour bar and friendly staff on bar and reception always happy to help and enjoying our attempts at German. The room itself was functional, great shower, basically what you... More

A nice hotel, easy to access from the airport by bus that takes you to a mall two blocks away. Easy to take the tram if you have luggage for one more stop. Hotel is close to a green area and at the same time, close to restaurants, beer houses and many touristic sites. Walking is a great alternative to... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
