We found this on Airbnb and rented it for 6 nights. Our apartment was the Melville and was awesome. Two bedroom and baths on 2 levels. We had 4 people sleep comfortably. There are two couches which were comfortable enough to sleep on There is a balcony with a chair to enjoy the sunsets. Lots of Windows, dishwasher, small fridge... More

This apartment evoked for me the austere grandeur of the East German elite. Extremely large, high ceilings, all mod cons and nicely decorated in a black and white theme to make it really funky....I stayed there with three friends and we had such a good time - right beside the Metro, but the location is within walking distance of lots... It is very spacious and the rooms are beautifully proportioned. The internal double doors are particulary lovely. The black and white theme is dramatic and fresh but......... there are very few comfortable places to sit and the whole place feels rather austere. As others have said the shower is really inadequate for a property of this size. The location is... More

Very central, w train, trams & busses right outside door to everywhere. Convenient cafe downstairs w fresh, healthy tummy stuff. Heaps of cafes, bars, restaurants & shops close by. Big, sunny, airy rooms with the tiniest shower room ever. Only complaint the air-headed staff @ cafe. When we called ahead we were advised that the apartment would be ready by... More

We stayed at st oberholtz apartments for a weekend and it was amazing! The rent is really cheap comparing to the lovely apartment that you are staying in. It was the perfect apartment for me and my girlfriends. The apartment was really nice and fresh and the people that worked at the café below was so nice and friendly. The... More

We’ve just stayed at the St Oberholz for 4 nights over a long weekend. 7 girls celebrating our birthdays together. Although the flat is meant for 4 to 6, they put an extra single bed in the huge main bedroom. The flat is so spacious that we didn’t even fight for the tiny shower room & wc (probably helped with... We stayed five friend for a weekend at Sankt Oberholz. The apartment is in a great location both in terms of public transportation but also restaurants, bars and nightlife. The apartment is modern and clean with cool designs. There is plenty of space with many beds, sofas, dining chairs etc. The kitchen is well equipped with refrigerator, coffee maker etc.... More

Our party of three stayed here for a wedding last summer. We were all blown away by the cleanliness and design of the apartment. This place is huge, and would be great for small groups traveling together (there are three bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and dining room, plus one full bath.) the location is fantastic, right next to a... Super location, great bar / coffee house downstairs, great communication with the staff, really comfortable, loads of space and well suited for our 4 day stay in June. I have rented many properties over the years and this was one of the best. Our next trip to Berlin we will be saying here too.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Living in two sophisticated apartments. From July 2009 two extraordinary flats are available to rent. Both apartments have 125 sqm and are located in the third and fourth floor of the St.Oberholz corner building at Rosenthaler Platz. Due to their alignment towards the lively Rosenthaler Platz they are rather vivid, suffused with light and offer a spectacular view. Each flat contains five spacious well lit rooms with high ceilings, original fittings, engraved glass doors and 3 balconies. Both apartments adopt the outstanding St. Oberholz style: historical meets modern design, exquisite antiques combined with contemporary furniture. Exciting artworks of Berlin artists adorn the walls, whilst the library stocks a fine selection of books and magazines. ... more   less
