Very good hotel in a great location. The staff is very professional, the rooms are very comfortable, they have a great customer service and the location could not be better. If you are planning to go to Berlin this is a very good option. I recommend this hotel.

With a Westin, you can always be comfortable of a certain standard in quality. This hotel was no different. My girlfriends and I got a cheap deal and so we had basic rooms (2 double twin rooms) which were clean, comfortable but nothing special. What we really did appreciate was the location. First, it was easily accessible by the metro....

Check in desk was great but be aware that renovated rooms are a long, long walk to elevators and currently overlook subway construction site. Good windows block most noise, though. Unrenovated rooms are small and dark. Threadbare bath towels could use upgrade. 32 euros per person for buffet is outta control. We ordered a la carte which was awful! (soggy,...

I had the pleasure of staying at the Westin Grand Berlin for business mid-September 2012. Its location is excellent with all the major historic sites of Berlin within easy reach. The 2.40 euro bus to Tegel Airport took about 40 minutes. It was a little confusing on the way to the hotel but was very easy getting back for the...

I stayed here in August during a family vacation. The rooms were a bit small but extremely comfortable beds. The breakfast was phenomenal with a wide selection and excellent service. We also enjoyed the pool after our long days of sightseeing. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to many attractions and to excellent restaurants. My only complaint...

I love the Westin as does my husband. So it was easy to decide to stay there. We were not disappointed as the service and staff were outstanding. And having flown from the USA, after a long flight the "heavenly bed" was heavenly and I immediately fall asleep (not always true at other hotels). Tell me where I can get...

While I call it an average hotel, I rated it one better as the bar for me is set higher for a Westin/SPG hotel than offered by this hotel but it is still very good relative to other hotels. The good was the room where I was on the top floor (7th) where it appeared the rooms had been renovated...

We give the hotel 3 stars because the hotel itself is nice. The rooms are clean, we felt safe and the location is great. The concierge service was very poor - one of the worst in the 14 SPG hotels we've stayed at in Europe since last year. He was unwelcoming and if we had a question, it was almost...

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
