Stayed here for 4 nights and the location is great for almost anything you want to do. The train is literally outside your door and within 15 minutes of walking, you are at major attractions. Check in was good and staff were friendly. Be sure to eat breakfast before you start your day. Chef makes fairly good omelets, but you... More

I stayed one night to see the sights and conduct some business. Hotel is to North American standards and was clean and well appointed with everything you would expect from a Westin hotel. Location is perfect for all the main sights of Berlin and puts them in walking distance. I didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on that.... More

Stayed one night, had a short time, but that doesn't matter when service and check in at hotell is fast and good. Typical american style hotel with carpet on the floor and interior that I relate to a typical american hotel. Nice outside area to have a glas of wine in a not to trafficated part of Berlin.

Stayed here with my family celebrating an Army reunion in Berlin. Wow the Hotel is Grand and beautiful inside and out! Beds were possible the most comfy I have ever slept in. Staff were great too. Since my stay it has been renovated again and I look forward to return soon!

We were at the Westin for 3 nights and we loved the place. Very friendly and efficient staff. Super breakfast, ideally placed. The parking is a bit of a bummer if like me you have a large and British car. The staff did not want to take the responsibility to park it but offered to guide me while I was... More

In a city where 'no smile - no service' is the standard (don't get me wrong some locals are really nice), the Westin Grand came out to be the most comforting place for me. I just had breakfast, and they were serving almost exclusively buffet breakfast. The nice thing about it is that they actually have a la carte breakfast... More

Berlin is certainly not the prettiest city on earth and has some rather austere uninspired architecture – the Westin Grand is no exception. It has some very good points – the location is perfect for sightseeing, the staff could not have been friendlier or more efficient and the room was fairly well equipped clean and comfortable. It is also well... More

Stayed at Westin on business several years ago and wanted to return with my family ever since. Wasn't disappointed. Westin Grand in Berlin was everything and more I'd hoped for. Really comfortable up market hotel that was friendly, well appointed and smack in the middle of everything you would want to see in Berlin. Excellent value and highly recommended

We really liked this hotel but didn't quite feel like a five star experience. The service desk and reception could have been more friendly on arrival and when we asked for a phone charger but found the bar staff very helpful and friendly. Our room was nice but minor issues were the door lock didn't work initially and a mirror... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
