The location is great. You can get around to everything super easy, either by walking or to public transit. The place is clean, and the staff is nice enough. But my only word of warning would be that sound travels from room to room VERY easily. If you have the misfortune of having a loud neighbor, you're screwed.

The hotel is centrally located, and the room is very clean. Hotel very quiet, except for some noise from the street early in the evening (I didn't notice any later on, although that may be because I was there midweek). The staff were very helpful, £5 breakfast was decent without being amazing. The free Wi-Fi is very good and fast,... More

It was a very lovely stay at this hotel. The decoration is great and very interesting. The location is very convenient, only a few minutes from U-bahn station. Neighbourhood is very lively, and there are a lot of restaurants to explore. Staff was freindly and helpful. Our overall stay is superb, however, there is no air conditioner, so it might... More

Fantastic location based in the middle of Berlin and so easy and simple to travel to all tourist locations. The area also felt incredibly safe with local supermarkets, bars and restaurants at half the price to the centre. The staff were friendly and eager to help – we arrived a few hours early and they allowed us to check in... More

Just spent a week in Berlin and stayed at the Hotel Zu Hause. The location is outstanding if you want to visit the club scene in Berlin and close to all the shopping and Kaufhaus des Westens...probably the grandest department I have ever seen. The owners and managers of Hotel Zu Hause could not have been more gracious and helpful.... More

We arrived late in the evening but we had contacted the hotel prior to our arrival so this was not a problem. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly and welcoming gentleman. We found the hotel to be very charming and very nice. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Our bedroom was fantastic! It was really... More

Extremely nice and very helpful hosts, with very comfortable rooms. Quite good location, close to the subway and shopping centers. Some noise during the night due to some club of the street, but not too problematic.

Zu Hause Hotel is very cosy with very nice and helpfull staff. Rooms are clean, the bathrooms are common (2/floor) but they are clean. I recommand breakfast for only 5 euro. A little minus for that hotel is the temperature in the rooms and bathrooms - a bit low during night. The Hotel is situated near Zoo (2 underground stations)... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
