I can't imagine a better location for a first time Berlin visitor. The hotel is very nice. It's showing it's wear and tear in a few places but that's because it's busy! I would highly recommend this hotel.
My husband and I had two recent stays at the Adlon, separated by four days at the Mandarin Oriental in Prague. We’ve been fortunate to have stayed in many 4- and 5-star properties — Relais Chateaux, Leading Hotels of the World — but without a doubt, the Adlon was our best experience, anywhere, ever. It’s in a wonderful location, right at the Brandenburg Gate, the hotel itself is grand and lovely, rooms are spacious and quiet, bathrooms and amenities luxurious, food delicious. But what sets the Adlon head and shoulders above the rest can be found in one word: service. It helps that staff in every sector are plentiful, but that’s only part of the picture. What’s more important, and amazing, is the attitude of everyone we encountered, from reception to housekeeping to wait staff to concierge, absolutely everyone: attentive, smiling, eager to help and please, unfailingly polite, striking the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism. An outstanding example: When our train to Prague was cancelled last minute, concierge Ole Pedersen went out of his way to secure us places on a later train. He went so far as to send a colleague to the train station not once but twice to ensure we would have seats — while we sat in the gorgeous Lobby Bar and enjoyed Apfelstrudel and amazing hot chocolate. A stay at the Adlon is “vaut le voyage” as Michelin would say. Treat yourself, it’s worth every penny.…
Glamorous hotel in a beautiful location near the Brandenberg Gates. We upgraded to a room with a view and it was lovely! A separate living area and comfortable bed. The shower and full soaking tub were also lovely. The dining room was an experience in luxury, overlooking the beautiful foyer. Dining room staff were exceptional, catering to your every whim! Eggs to order, pancakes and breakfast pastries and Champagne! All staff were so kind and professional. Truly a lovely place to stay in Berlin. Our tour guide called it “the most beautiful hotel in Berlin” and I quite agree!
I was hier 3 days for the business because I was hier for one congress. The location and staff very good and very helpful and professional. The breakfast was the best ever in my life and I think the best in Berlin. The price was not cheap but for all your money you have everything! Excellent! Thanks a lot!!
It was good to be back in Berlin after three years, and to mark the occasion, a friend suggested we do something outrageous. Like partake in a dish that's ubiquitously Berlin, but at an awesome setting and similarly astronomical price. A quick Google search pointed us to the Adlon Kempinski's currywurst, served at the lobby lounge. We were not disappointed. Large serving of sausages came sprinkled with real gold flakes. Glad to have had some historical Berliner cuisine and glad to have paid those prices. The hotel is super!
Location, service, facilities, breakfast, lounge bar - all amazing. Believe all the reviews, and if you can spend a little more - it will be worth it. We definitely felt price/ value/service/location aligned. Our 4 day Berlin visit was definitely made more memorable by staying here. I would not consider staying anywhere else next time for sure. It has history, service, location, modern conveniences that would be very hard to duplicate anywhere else in Berlin, and was our top hotel of all 4 hotels we stayed in different countries in Europe.
Perfect high end hotel located by the Brandenburg Gate and across from the Tiergarten Park. Easily accessible by the U. Also houses the Michelin 2 Star Lorenz Aldon Esszimmer and the Quarre restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor seating with view of the Brandenburg Gate. Morning breakfast buffet (which was included in our room rate) was superb. Service impeccable and we were upgraded to a suite with a literal walk-in closest. Obviously not a budget hotel, but on the level of staying at the Savoy in London. Even stored one of our bags for three days before we returned to Berlin.
In summary: Pricey, but worth it. Wonderful location with a great outside bar looking onto the Brandenburg Gate. Room was large, with a very roomy bathroom with a bath (& seperate toilet). Breakfasts were wonderful, with huge range of fresh and well-cooked options, including a pastry to take-away to enjoy later. The lobby bar had fabulous food - the vegetarian burger was the best we had ever had (expensive, yet we came back and had it again). Staff here are incredible - helpful, friendly, warm - they really make is such a special place. A highlight of our trip.
My parents who lived in what was West Germany had always wanted to visit The Adlon. Post Covid managed to persuade them to make the trip with us and the Hotel and its staff did not disappoint. Clearly the location and the history of the Hotel are unique but that doesn't make as much of a difference to a successful stay as the way you are made to feel. In a hotel with a guest roster full of the global 'good and great' one could worry that 'normal' guests might get overlooked. Absolutely not! We were made to feel like VIPs with a room upgrade and Emmi who checked us in was an absolute star! Everything was ready exactly as it should be and even though we were very early arriving Emmi sorted everything and even showed us to our 'private lift' (not quite, but it only went from outside our rooms to the pool and we never saw anyone else using it in our 3 days there so it felt 'private' :-) ). But that's not all. Emmi then spotted us as she left for her lunch break and stopped to chat with us and check everything was ok. She didn't have to do that but the fact she did made us feel really special. Thank you Emmi. We spent each evening in the Lobby Bar and the young lady who greeted us was also exceptional, moving armchairs so we could sit together as a group of 5 (those things are HEAVY, I know, I tried lifting one!). Hat tip to Sebastian too who took time to chat with us about our travels. As I have said, there is no 'pecking order' among guests. It is a special Hotel and everyone is made to feel equally special. Finally, you have to try the Currywurst. It's expensive sure, but not unreasonably so when you consider you can eat it in front of the Brandenburg Gate and it comes sprinkled with gold! A real treat.…
one of the worst hotels in Berlin.. it does not deserve more than 2 stars staff are rude.. rooms are outdated and too old air conditioner is the worst never go to the restaurant in ground floor… it is the worst really I hated the hotel and how bad and old it was
