I wish I could give a 4.5 star as it wasn't quite a perfect experience, but it was very good and I would stay here again. Pros: Location is fantastic - there are so many sights within walking distance. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and English is spoken by all staff we encountered if you don't speak German. Rooms are comfortably appointed and spacious, including the showers (which can sometimes be very small in Europe.) Our room was on the 4th floor and overlooked the "courtyard" and felt very private and quiet. The breakfast buffet is mind-blowing and open from 6:30-11am - just a fantastic way to start the day! There is also a two Michelin starred restaurant - Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer - in the hotel, which was one of the best meals we've ever had if you enjoy fine dining! Make reservations ahead of time. We did not have time to enjoy the pool/gym/spa areas but I appreciated having the options. Cons: It's the little things that differentiate a true 5* hotel and there were things that were overlooked. For instance, the tub was not spotless and I had to clean it myself before taking a bath. The temperature control in the room wasn't completely adjustable. There was only one elevator working to get up/down to our room, and it was quite slow and the stairs were only for emergency use. On our last morning as were preparing for a hectic travel day the shower stopped draining and flooded the entire bathroom floor all the way into the toilet! We cleaned this up ourselves and when I reported it at check-out the response was "thanks for letting us know." There was zero acknowledgment that dealing with a faulty shower added a lot of stress to an already stressful travel day, nor that we shouldn't have had to deal with that in the first place! Overall we did enjoy our stay, and the pros outweighed the cons. I would stay here again when I visit Berlin! …

We take this chance as we are about to end our current vacation at the Adlon to thank the whole team for a continuous row of wonderful times we spend in the wonderful harmony of hospitality. We love Berlin and during nearly 20 years we arrive 3 times a year to spend most of our holidays in the city. We stayed in the Regent for several years and for almost 2 years we moved to the Adlon. Returning here feels nothing less than like a second home. The atmosphere, the high level of maintenance and cleaning and above all the wonderful team- always fully attentive and helpful, looking so satisfied and proud. In particular we love the Quarre restaurant and the best indication for our love and satisfaction is the fact that for two years we never had dinner anywhre else in Berlin during our wee long stays. Besides the wonderful food, the view to the Brandenburg gate, the atmosphere and the high standards of service, we believe that there are two reasons for our insistence: Sasakia and Marcus. Both are perfect representatives of the highest quality service. We were looking forward to our stay The hotel has had better days it is trading on its reputation rather than satisfying guests today. The air conditioning was not fixed during our stay with absolutely o feedback or explanation. There are much better hotels in Berlin

From the front door onwards, the service here is superb. All the staff here are friendly and seem to genuinely want you to enjoy the stay, none of the supercilious attitude you sometimes get in hotels at this end of the scale It's not cheap, but you feel its money well spent. Great location next to the Brandenburg Gate The breakfast spread caters for everything from caviar (choice of 3 types), champagne through to sausages, and bacon! The Adlon has an amazing location, a beautiful lobby, and a great history, but it also have terrible service and the rooms are old. The service was bad, impersonal, arrogant and lazy, and the We went to Berlin for ten days, and the rooms are so old that the floor is scratched, the beds are uncomfortable, and they have a bad smells. We were in Berlin for ten days and we stayed at the Adlon the first two days but we moved to the Ritz Carlton after the second day because if the service and the rooms. The Ritz was fabulous, and although the location is not as great, the service, the food, and the rooms are fantastic, and they felt like home for the remaining eight days of our trip.

Great Experience fantastic service and support a special thanks to the Hotel manager Mr Hanno Barkhoff and the guest relation manager Ms Nathalie Hoare and Housekeeping manager Mr Thorsten Lange , apart from doing all to make our stay celebrating our special stay with rose flowers , champagne and support and help , I forgot my headphones and charger at our room at it was sent to be just 3 days after , that is fantastic and a great service and honestly very appreciated. We really enjoyed the hotel, the bar is great and the breakfast at the first floor amazing We will recommend the hotel Adlon Kempenski in Berlin to everyone, and a great location with very kind staff

The interior, the staff, the food is like straight out of a movie. Every member of the staff is extremely personally friendly, with real smiles and interest in our well-being. Should one have friendly staff who does not see when the guests need something, this would certainly spoil the experience, off course:-) But the Kempinski people see everything, feel everything. They have a sixth sense. On some occasions, one staff member points out with a light gesture that a guest requires a service. This wonderful group of people is no doubt trained at the best hotel schools. We saw two interns who were doing a magnificent job as a duo, treating every customer as king and queen. We felt at home, the three nights we stayed felt like 2 weeks. My wife and I expressed our thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such a warm welcome. We work all year long, and then were pampered in TRUE FIVE STAR style. We tasted from the magnificent cakes, the good coffee, and of course the Adlon LEGEND breakfast. The location of the breakfast is on the first floor. With a spot at the balcony and rather early, before the larger crowds arrive, one feels like being in a 1920s theatre. While we were there, the staff changed the flowers in the lobby. A treat for the eye for many people, whether or not they were staying in the hotel. The architecture of the hotel is magnificent, especially with the glass tiles in the ceiling and the glass dome roof, the fairy tail fountain, the dreamy decoration of the reception area. The location of the hotel is marvelous. It allowed us on two occasions to have a coffee at the hotel inbetween two different planned excursions. The traffic near the hotel is very much limited (security zone near several embassies. One could say that the hotel is in one of the safest locations in Berlin:-) The room was spotlessly clean, the shower was world class with immediate hot water, a walk-in garderobe. The lighting and lighting controls very cosy and efficient. The bed was gigantic, with immaculate sheets and downs and fluffy pillows. The concierge was of great help and he was very honest. Even though he could provide us with tickets for an exhibition that was sold out for the public, he was so honest to say that combining the exhibition and getting our flight in time would cause stress, and advised against it. That was very helpful and straightforward. I appreciated this. Any points of constructive criticism? The cushions of the armchairs in the lobby need refurbishment perhaps. The support is worn out. For older people, the bronze doors to enter the hotel are almost impossible to open, the revolving door was out of order. The toilets at -1 are not immaculately clean and might need a technical overhaul. But these are details, compared to the overall filmstar experience. On another note, it would be great when all guests would observe a minimal dress code when staying at this hotel. I saw guests arriving in torn jeans, track suits, green hair and baseball caps or sandals with white socks. The staff is dressed, styled immaculately, so some overseas guests could do a bigger effort in dressing for the occasion. This is not McDonalds. MOST certainly we will visit the city and this hotel again. Thank you to all at Adlon Kempinski. See you soon! …

Popped into hotel for afternoon tea on recommendation from friends. Very nice and staff extremely pleasant and courteous. We had to try the Kaiser Cup cocktails and which were superb , a couple of gins had too and these very good. Excellent service throughout

Excellent Hotel. A Grand Dame directly in the heart of Berlin. Rooms are dated and not up to standard but the pure pleasure residing in this landmark and being served a 7 star breakfast still justifies the price point. I do hope renovations are on the way as I will be back :)
