Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I had two recent stays at the Adlon, separated by four days at the Mandarin Oriental in Prague. We’ve been fortunate to have stayed in many 4- and 5-star properties — Relais Chateaux, Leading Hotels of the World — but without a doubt, the Adlon was our best experience, anywhere, ever. It’s in a wonderful location, right at the Brandenburg Gate, the hotel itself is grand and lovely, rooms are spacious and quiet, bathrooms and amenities luxurious, food delicious. But what sets the Adlon head and shoulders above the rest can be found in one word: service. It helps that staff in every sector are plentiful, but that’s only part of the picture. What’s more important, and amazing, is the attitude of everyone we encountered, from reception to housekeeping to wait staff to concierge, absolutely everyone: attentive, smiling, eager to help and please, unfailingly polite, striking the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism. An outstanding example: When our train to Prague was cancelled last minute, concierge Ole Pedersen went out of his way to secure us places on a later train. He went so far as to send a colleague to the train station not once but twice to ensure we would have seats — while we sat in the gorgeous Lobby Bar and enjoyed Apfelstrudel and amazing hot chocolate. A stay at the Adlon is “vaut le voyage” as Michelin would say. Treat yourself, it’s worth every penny.

We stayed again at the Adlon Kempinski 2 years after our first stay. It is still a very good 5 stars hotel with still an excellent Afternoon Tea experience. Check-in and check-out very good, rooms are still the same and we think a makeover is in need.

A historical hotel with excellent location. The hotel room was in good status despite its long history. It was well equipped and clean. Yet it was not the same story for the lift and the pool. The pool was pretty moisty without proper air-conditioning. There was no staff at the pool area to welcome us when we arrived the pool, except the one who kept sitting at his working desk after seeing us. We had no time to swim so cannot make a complete comment. The service wasn’t bad yet wasn’t so good. We ordered a delivery to the hotel. We got no message from the hotel after the stuff was delivered. We picked that up. We got welcome from a busy staff after standing a while when waiting to check in, but not immediately from those who are free aside. There was only one complimentary bottled water for two residents with another one in the fridge coming with a fee. These aren’t big, but big enough to distinguish a 4-star and a 5-star hotel. Details are important when it comes to a 5-star hotel, especially for a historic and well-known luxury hotel. With the same price, I guess I will go to another hotel next time I visit Berlin. In sum this is still worth a stay as the most historical hotel in Berlin but you may have to lower your expectation a bit.

Well... where do I start? I was here for a conference and tacked on a few extra days of vacation to celebrate my birthday. The staff were amazingly attentive and really paid attention to the personal details at every point. They gave me a birthday card waiting for me in my room, put a candle on our breakfast table and wished me a happy birthday; they also called ahead to the restaurant where we were having dinner that night and told them it was my birthday. The following day, they phoned to check if I'd had a nice day and these are just some of the many personal touches they gave. I'm most struck by the fantastic training the team are clearly given and the professionalism and pride they take in their work. If only all 5-star hotels were like this! We'll definitely be back for another superb stay...

Despite the deep connection to Kempinski in many ways. Let me tell you what is not obvious - the service at the level of a masterpiece and all this even before you arrive at the hotel. In every conversation, in every interaction no matter in what sense you feel the hand that leads the class! I had the pleasure of talking to Mr. Henrik Weiske - so much patience - intelligence and service with a passion for the job. A man of his stature and above. We will visit in the middle of May and as someone who cares about this wonderful chain, than I am already giving them a special grade befitting a special approach. Bravo!

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski for 2 nights last weekend. We are lucky enough to often stay at 5 star hotels so it takes a lot to really impress us. I can honestly say that we both thought this was one of our favourite hotels ever. It goes without saying that it is a beautiful, iconic property in a fantastic location. However, the staff were just incredible. Every single person we dealt with was friendly, helpful and professional and genuinely seemed to care about our stay / comfort / query. It really was an absolute delight. We had a relatively ordinary room so I know it was not that they thought we were "important" guests. We spoke to the lady cleaning our room, the bar staff in the lobby bar, the breakfast staff, the front desk, room service on the phone, the concierge and the pianist in the lobby bar. I asked Paul at the concierge desk about a local Italian restaurant that I had seen but could not remember the name. He knew immediately and asked if we were going to dinner there. We said yes and he asked if we wanted him to book it for us. Within about 2 minutes, we had our reservation. Nothing was too much trouble. Our bedroom was spacious and luxurious as you would expect. The breakfast was probably the best we have ever had for quality and choice - open until noon which is great because you don't have to get up too early and you can treat it like brunch. No one chased you out near the end of the breakfast time - it was all very relaxed. The lobby bar was sumptuous with a fountain in the middle and the bar / waiting staff so attentive. Alexander Frey the pianist is also a world renown conductor and organist. When I phoned to see if we could have a late check-out, I was told that the room was reserved. I said, don't worry then and the man on the phone said, it's my job to worry, let me see what I can do and he then organised a later check out for us. Literally everyone who works there is at the top of their game. And I know that takes a lot for such a big hotel. All I can say is that whilst their staff training must be good and their staff selection process rigorous, this sort of service comes from the individuals themselves. Add that to such a historic and lovely hotel and you've got more than 5 stars. Thank you to each and every member of staff who we dealt with at the Adlon Kempinski - you made our trip so special and if we are ever in Berlin, we will only stay with you!

We stayed at the Adlon for 2 nights pre-tour and 3 nights part of an organized tour with Tauck. We were so impressed with this hotel from check in until check out. The service was impeccable from the bellmen, porters all the way up to the night manager. There were several events happening in the hotel over the 5 days we were there and the hotel staff was still as attentive and friendly to us as they were to all the people involved in those events. Our room was always cleaned and restocked with whatever we needed. The bed was confortable as was the other furniture in the room. It was spacious and we had places to unpack our bags and spread out. We ate in the bar, room service and the Aldon To Go and in all locations we found exactly what we wanted to eat with polite service. Room service was quick and set up nicely. The breakfast buffet was amazing with so many wonderful choices. The morning we checked out the buffet wasnt open yet but they had a nice selection of items set up in the lobby so we could grab something for the ride to the airport. When my husband had a health issue (not covid) the hotel arranged a visit to the hospital and checked on us when we returned. The location of the hotel was so convenient to historical sites, shops and restaurants. There was easy access to tours right across the street. It was an amazing stay and I highly recommend this hotel.

A very luxurious hotel. Spa is great and definitely worth a visit and the breakfast was unreal - probably the best hotel breakfast we have ever had. Nicely furnished throughout and very helpful staff, room was a good size with a comfy bed. Location is fantastic right in the centre of Berlin. We would definitely go back.

We are a family of four that decided to go to Berlin for a short pre easter holiday. As the kids are 18 and 20 years old, we booked two rooms. We chose Adlon Kempinski as the hotel is located conveniently according to our preferences. From the moment we drove up with our car to the moment we drove off from the hotel we encountered impeccable service and friendliness. The short resume of our stay is that everything was just perfect. Going into Adlon was like transforming into an alternative universe as you could sense the extraordinary atmosphere when entering from the outside. The lobby was impressive, our two rooms were fantastic (we did not have suites), the staff was super friendly, and the breakfast was even more impressive. Maybe the best breakfast experience we've ever had. Both the food and service were top-notch. And the facilities are well worth a visit! As you know, coming home to your own bed is always the best. So also, after returning home from Adlon Kempinski. But this time, on our journey back home, we started planning when to travel back to Berlin and this magnificent hotel. It was decided it will be in September. All four of us fell in love with the hotel and agreed we must re-visit. Was really everything that perfect? Yes. Not even one little thing that could have been better? Actually no. Did we know Kempinski from before? No, this was our first encounter with any Kempinski hotel. We would love to visit other Kempinski hotels after this experience. I was unfortunate to forget my swimming trunks. No problem. A friendly person at Housekeeping would love to send it to my home address. Should you give this hotel a try? Definitely yes, if you are willing to pay what they charge. If you do, you will get what you pay for and a little bit more.
