First trip to Berlin and this hotel did not disappoint. Super clean with an excellent family room which was effectively a suite. Very attentive and helpful staff where nothing was too much trouble and yet they weren’t pushy. Also a very quiet hotel despite its close proximity to city centre. Very easy to travel anywhere in Berlin from this hotel. Clearly lots of money being spent on refurbishing and I look forward to returning to see the upgraded facilities. Thank you for a memorable stay.

The hotel advertises itself as being a luxury hotel. The reality is far from that statement. Admittedly, the hotel is large and located on Kurfurstendamm, and the lobby reception area has many luxury items on display. But those looking for luxury do best in other places in Berlin. I had an international meeting on Monday and Tuesday at the hotel and planned an extended weekend with my wife in Berlin from the Friday before. Attached are pictures of the room we got for 209 euros a night. A room that was definitely not up to the normal standard of a 3-star hotel, let alone a so-called luxury hotel. For 30 euros extra per night, I did get a more decent superior room (which, however, was located right next to the train track and was therefore noisy). My surprise was great when on Monday my colleagues got a superior room in the same block at a price 20 euros cheaper than mine. I had booked the room directly with the hotel, my colleagues through booking. After inquiring with the manager, it was claimed that the reason was that I had made my booking a few weeks later and the system had given that price. It did not come to a commercial gesture. The system apparently has the last word, while certainly not all rooms were occupied. Forget also the various restaurants announced on the website: apart from the reception bar, they were closed. Meetings were possible, but the toilets at the meeting room were closed. Breakfast is served in two meeting rooms and for those who are not lucky: simply at tables in the corridor. In short: a hotel not worth its price. You can find better ones in Berlin and even in the surrounding area. To avoid

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your feedback and for taking the time to review your recent stay. I am sorry to read about the miscommunication. This is not the standard we would like to convey. Please be assured that we will provide our employees with thorough training to ensure that this does not happen again. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. I am sorry you were not informed about the renovation work and changes regarding the restaurants. We are really looking forward to the results and the changes in the future and hope you do too. We regret deeply that we could not convince you of our services, but really hope to welcome you again here in Berlin to convince you of the opposite. Best regards Frank Ketterer General Manager

With excitment We where looking forward to visit this legendary Hotel and Christmas Market In Berlin. We stayed many times before at this legendary Hotel and had a lot Of great memories to refresh Up on arrivel no smile and no welcome greatings, just a fast speaking recepsonist. Room, Jr suite was Nice and well prepared, but no Coffe machine🫣 The cleaning was terribel bad and i had to tell to the same lady at recepion 3 times before it was cleaned. Woke up Saturday Morning 8 am to knocking and drilling, noisy construction work going on, this destroyed our weekend sleep, it was not announced before booking or upon arrivel. The shut down of the nice Restaurant Reinhard was also a big dissapointment. This was our last stay here because We came back to refresh old memories who sadly are lost. The staff need to improve their customer treatment, no smiles seen except from a nice asian recepionst, sad.

On arrival there was a porter at the door. The large revolving doors were locked so we had to use side entrance. Doors were extremely heavy and no assistance was provided. We checked in and went to our rooms. Poor shabby decor, a throw back from the 80s threadbare carpet, and old wooden furniture which had seen better days and was all scratched and worn. No tea tray and no minibar. The linen was mismatched with yellow valances and white sheets and duvets. The bathrooms were clean but very dated. No toiletries - all in one type liquid on wall of bath which you couldn’t reach if you were bathing and not showering. Daughter was violently sick and dehydrated I walked to reception in night clothes and asked for water, and items to clean the mess. Items to clean no problem water to rehydrate a 12 year old you need to pay for now! Disrespectful attitude and no care and compassion. I did not ask them to clean the mess, I done that, would have been happy to pay for water - firstly let’s get the child sorted. Staff were rude and arrogant, claimed not to understand English and were happy to be little me to each other at reception, not realising that my German was a little better than their English. Avoid this place there are nicer places close by, this was a distressed purchase for us at the last minute.

First stayed here in 2018 when it was a comfortable large deluxe hotel. Unfortunately in December 2022 it was undergoing building work and the route from our room to the pool was like a maze. We still enjoyed our stay especially as we upgraded our room to one overlooking the shopping street. Very pretty view with the Christmas lights. Like many hotels in Europe, there are no longer mini toiletries provided. However, the bathroom was huge and spotlessly clean with plenty of white towels and a liquid soap dispenser fitted to the wall. Note that there are no tea and coffee making facilities provided in the rooms but you can ask for a kettle in reception.

Fine one night stay. Located perfectly in the area of Kurfürstendamm. The room were a bit outdated, but it was spacious. Friendly and welcoming staff. Was able to park just outside of the hotel, because we arrived on a Saturday afternoon…..

All the public rooms are very well presented, unfortunately the bedrooms were not. Although the beds were comfortable the maid service good and the rooms quiet there was no complimentary tea and coffee, the bath towels were too small and the furniture and decor rather tired. The staff however were really nice, polite and attentive. Didn’t come up to our vision of a four star hotel I’m sorry to say.

Location. Excellent location. On one of the best shopping streets in Berlin with gorgeous tree lined streets. Next to a U bahn and 7 mins walk to a big S and U exchange with a direct train to the airport (it’s grubby around there) to Loads of nice restaurants around. Hotel: gorgeous old hotel. Swimming pool and spa were excellent. Big pool not too warm. Real sauna and steam room. Room. Nice but a bit disappointing. We ordered a twin and beds too close together. Very comfortable however, and really nice bedding. Gorgeous bathroom. Service: chaotic. Were not given a twin as booked and it became very complicated resolving it. We went out for coffee and when came back still not sorted. And the given another double! They then did not update the room list for breakfast and we were chased across the restaurant saying we had g paid. Not a 5 star experience at all.

The welcome was warm , the lobby impressive and grand , check in process was fine . The room was a let down , looking tired and used a lot with scuffs and scratches an ineffective air conditioner that was noisy plus the bright clock on the front of the TV made it difficult to sleep without earplugs and eyeshades . Hopefully when you renovate/ modernize the rooms then things will improve. The hotel is in a good location and the staff are friendly and professional, but the rooms need to be improved
