This review is easy to write because this hotel Regent Berlin is as good-as-it-gets. First, the property itself is lovely, with marble floors and walls, elegantly appointed molding and paintwork, artwork, and comfortable lobby and room furnishings. I am told this used to be a Four Seasons property 20 years ago, so they've very good bones. What is unusual is the amount of money management has reinvested. They spend alot on upkeep, and it shows everywhere. The rooms are large, kept meticulously clean, the lighting fixtures sparkle all over the hotel, just lovely. The rooms have proper glassware and small china for beverages and coffee. The bathroom is ample with an excellent showerhead and a private 'water-closet' room. Alot of closet and drawer space in the room.

On top of the physical property, the service is 5-star superb. Again, it is more than adequately staffed, with multiple doormen, multiple desk agents, a full-time concierge, plenty of restaurant help. This adds so much value; in a week I never had to wait more than 30 seconds for any assistance. The staff all, by the way, dressed in proper business suits and neckties for the men, and proper suits and skirts for the women employees - a lovely and elegant touch. They are knowledgeable, many have been there for 15 years or more. Nothing is too much trouble. We booked one night and liked it so much we stayed for a week! By the 2nd or 3rd day, the staff would greet me by surname, again, a nice (but rare) touch. The main word that recurs to describe this staff is simply: professional -- whether a doorman or a kid clearing your table.

As a small example of the outstanding service, I had to work for a few hours one morning and was not able to go down for proper breakfast, asked my wife to just bring me back a cup of coffee and a bun when she returned. I didn't give it much thought but assumed a paper cup of coffee with a standard plastic lid and a small bag with a bun or bagel inside. Oh, no, what came up as my to-go coffee and bun is shown in the pic attached! The second pic is a sculpture on display among other beautiful artwork, and the last is a small item, almost silly - this was only men's briefs returned from the laundry - but wrapped like a Christmas present when delivered to the room by staff!

This is one of the finest hotels I have visited in Europe or anywhere, and you pay a lot more for a lot less elsewhere on the continent. Good location with 40 good restaurants within a two-block walk in all directions, and some very nice, fashionable nearby shopping too, if you like.

Breakfast is awesome with a sprawling buffet of whatever you like, from smoked salmon to meats and cheeses to baked goods or a half-dozen cereals. They have an egg chef in the back who does custom omelettes, hot fresh and delicious. As an added plus, they serve breakfast until 10:30am, while some lesser hotel breakfasts conclude at 9:30 or earlier. The hotel restaurant is very good with excellent service, but only open 3 or 4 nights.
I will add that the hotel is quiet, not like some others that have alot of meet-ups or music etc. But, unless you prefer a very 'lively' place, this hotel is a home run, and I'd return without hesitation.

The Regent Hotel in Berlin definitely enhanced our stay in Berlin. The lobby is lovely, service is very efficient, yet personal and friendly, and our suite offered ample room and comfort. The hotel is absolutely immaculate, with housekeeping unobtrusively replenishing and refreshing our accommodations several times a day. The Regent Bar, where we had several dinners, offers a wonderful menu and atmosphere. The Hotel is on a quiet street, yet in an excellent and convenient location, steps from shops, restaurants, and a perhaps a 10-minute walk from both the Brandenburg Gate in one direction and Museum Island in another. When we did opt to take public transport, there were several stations just a few blocks away, and when we had to depart for the airport at 4:30 am, our ordered cab was waiting and staff was on-hand to facilitate and make us wish we could have stayed even longer. A wonderful experience.

I travel to Berlin frequently and have often stayed at the Westin. One block away is the Regent. They are both great hotels with different personalities. The Westin is large, crowded, and very social. The Regent, is quiet, very traditional and impeccable. The hotel has an incredibly ornate and elegant lobby. The staff is multilingual and excellent. Rooms are spacious and also quite ornate. Breakfast was included via American Express and extremely good with hot and cold offerings. The hotel did the little things perfectly such as replenishing bottled water and coffee pods at turndown service. The hotel's style is not of clean modern lines but is instead very antique and gilded. While that is typically not my style, because of the exceptional attention to detail and staff, I will very likely stay there again in the future.

We had a family reunion in Germany during mid November 2021 and stayed in three separate rooms at the Regent Berlin.

I am particularly impressed by the professionalism and thoughtfulness of the Reservations Team. I had numerous requests and they were most obliging. A smooth check-in after long flights from Asia and North America was very helpful.

Housekeeping was friendly and provided fresh fruit plates and a large bottle of Evian everyday. There is a coffee machine/kettle in the room as well.

Breakfast was included in our room rates. Buffet plus hot entrees (to order): eggs, side dishes, pancakes (the best), waffles, omelettes...etc. Excellent selection of fresh fruits. Very happy with it.

Windows can be opened and one of our rooms had a balcony.

Hotel within walking distance to the museums, Rausch Schokoladenhaus, and malls with supermarkets and pharmacy - where we converted our US and Singapore vaccine certificates to the EU version with QR codes.

We will definitely stay at the Regent again when we next visit Berlin.

We were greeted at the entrance by friendly partiers and had a quick and efficient check in. The foyer is classic, luxurious and relaxing. There is a grand piano with a pianist playing from lunch time onwards, it a wonderful way to be welcomed back to your hotel after a busy day of sightseeing.

The location is perfect.

The breakfast is very good with full table service and your favorites made fresh by the chef.

The bar is inviting and has large selection.

The housekeeping service is excellent and they service the rooms once you have left in the morning so that once you return all is in order.

The rooms are spacious, elegantly decorated and all items in working order.

The only thing that could be better is to supply individual toiletries rather than large bottles on the wall in an inconvenient location. This I would expect in a 5 star hotel.

This being said they stay was highly enjoyable and the service impeccable.

This is a classic, charming and high standard hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Regent recently and it was a true five star experience all the way. Every single detail - ranging from the bed linens to the breakfast - was sumptuous.

The decor of the hotel is not really our taste, but it is so spectacularly-executed. One simply cannot help but to admire the marble flooring, crystal light fixtures and immaculate antique furniture. We were upgraded to a suite and it was probably the finest hotel room I've ever stayed in.

The hotel is also immaculately constructed such that you never hear people walking in the hallway or above you.

Overall, we would give the Regent the highest possible recommendation.

Very comfortable hotel in every way. Guests are made to feel welcome from the minute the hotel door is opened for you.
The rooms were a very nice size , beautifully furnished and even though we were on the street you couldn't hear a thing. Nothing is too much trouble and a requested ironing board arrived within minutes.
The staff in the restaurants were very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to fulfil my strange request of porridge made with water ! The food served in the hotel was delicious .
We would definitely go back as it is within easy walking distance of many places of interest .

The Regent Berlin is a very nice hotel with less than stellar service. The rooms are quiet, good sized and have nice beautiful marble bathrooms. But the service is definitely not 5 star. Upon entering our room for the first time, we walked in to find a gentleman in the room lying on the bed watching TV. We were all very startled by the situation. It was humiliating! We went back to front desk and were told "that the room should have been empty". No apologies offered at all. We were just given another room which they said was a upgrade, but it was the exact same room. We were later told by the hotel bartender that it happens often, which I find appalling. When I emailed the manager about the situation, I got a canned email about how he apologizes "for not meeting my expectations". Really? Doesn't every guest expect to check into an empty room and not be humiliated by walking in on a guest?
The concierge service is also less than stellar. They didn't make the reservation I emailed about 2 weeks prior and when I asked for restaurant recommendations, they could only offer a pre-appoved list. They also knew nothing of the restaurants that I was interested in.
We are AmEx Platinum members and the reservation comes with some perks which they are supposed to explain at check-in. The front desk staff didn't mention ANY of them and seemed confused when I asked at a later time.
All in, I'd think twice about staying here again. There are other 5 star hotels in Berlin that probably take care of their guests.

The public areas were very impressive and we were pleased with our room and its view of the Französischer Dom in Gendarmenmarkt. Certain members of the waiting staff were extremely pleasant and efficient and the food and drinks we partook of were of a high standard. However, at times it was difficult to find someone to take our order or bring us the bill to sign. In fact at times reception was empty and the hotel lobby and public areas resembled the Marie Celeste.

It was somewhat disappointing on arrival not to be welcomed back - this was our third visit. In fact the receptionist seemed much more pleased to see us leave than arrive.

However, the thing that spoilt the stay for us was breakfast not being included in the room rate. We had booked via the hotel website that stated “Stay at Regent Berlin for two or more nights and receive breakfast on us for up to two guests.” This is not the case. We stayed four nights but were informed on arrival that breakfast would be extra. I had tried to clarify the position by email prior to our arrival but received a very none committal response.
Apparently, clicking the “Book Now” button from the page stating breakfast is included when staying for two nights or more doesn’t then give you room rates that include breakfast. However, nowhere does it say that breakfast is not included. We feel that the hotel needs to clarify its website as it is currently misleading and it left us feeling somewhat cheated. We would have given a rating of four rather than three but for this.

Prior to Covid we were frequent visitors to Berlin, the last twice at the Regent, but we have also stayed at other five star hotels in the city. This was our first post Covid trip to Berlin and we are likely to once again be visiting frequently in the future, but we will be considering looking elsewhere for our accommodation.

Dear Mr. Macadoo, We certainly value your patronage and are appreciative of your feedback, thus thank you for taking the time to share such with us. Having said that, we obviously regret to read that your stay fell below your expectations following your recent stay with us. Please be rest assured that we value your feedback and use it as an opportunity to train our dedicated team members as we strive to deliver the best of care to our guests at all times. I would like to take this opportunity to cater to your commends and point out that our reception is indeed covered 24h a day and our team is more than happy to be of any assistance if needed. Therefore, it would have been our pleasure to assist you with the misunderstanding of the IHG Promotion "Breakfast is on us" while you've been among us at the Regent Hotel. As stated, the promotion has to be booked through the IHG One Rewards App and booked for the dedicated hotel, as you may see in the link attached. https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/deals/hotel-offers/appetising-getaways However, you have decided to book our "advance purchase" rate instead of the promotion "breakfast is on us". Further, the "advance purchase" rate includes a partially higher rate discount while you have to pay it in advance and therefore comes without breakfast as stated in the booking reference. With this at hand we are confident the misunderstanding could be clarified for you and I would be more than happy to be of any assistant during your next visit. Moreover, I would like to inform you, that you will receive a separate email from me containing your awaited invoice. In case you are unable to find the mail in your inbox, please check your spam file or do let me know immediately to investigate further. Once again, it is gratifying to read that you appreciated the hotel's décor and rooms, as well as the genuine hospitality from our team members at the door and service. We sincerely hope that this will draw you back in not too distant future and have the pleasure of being of service again. Kind regards, Alexander Appel Front of House Manager Regent Hotel Berlin
