Beautiful, friendly, great room, located in the Mitte district which is central to the main Berlin central district. Staff very friendly & helpful. Restaurant in hotel is goid, pricey, but lots of other eating places nearby. Hotel has a lovely interior patio "wine garden" for a snack or a quite drink.

We recently spent 4 nights at the Regent and had an outstanding time. The staff that greets you upon arrival are so friendly that it sets the mood. The room was great and a good size for a city hotel. The location was the best with being just one block from the major streets of Berlin,it was quite but then...

I know this hotel will appeal to many people but for me it was too over the top and lavish in its decoration, a few of the staff were fabulous and helpful and some other staff were pompous and dismissive of me. I found their attitutudes very disappointing. The room was lavish and clean. Breakfast was just ok and very...

The Regent Hotel was a great relief after 25 hours of travel - immaculately clean, beautiful reception area, attentive staff (especially the breakfast staff and particularly impressed with the knowledge and helpfulness of the two male concierges). The location is excellent, very central and in easy walking distance of the River, the Brandenberg Gate and shops/restaurants. The quality of the...

This is a true luxury hotel with all amenities a business or leisure traveler might need. I booked a room through Amex FHR which provides early check-in, but I was clearly pushing it with an 8.30 a.m. arrival from my red-eye flight. They were extremely accommodating and had a 'room' ready for me by 10 a.m.! Tough to call it...

We stayed this hotel two nights with Virtuoso travel plan inclusive breakfast. The day we left we ordered continental breakfast in the room because of our early flights. We had two coffees and two juices and paid extra 58 euro because breakfast in the room is not applied to breakfast inclusive plan. No one notified us this hotel policy. It...

We booked a superior room and are not disappointed. King bed with lovely linens, huge marble bathroom with soaking tub, large shower and toilet in separate room. Beautiful furniture and decor. Staff has been most helpful. Several excellent restaurants within a short walk. Also walking distance to Museum Island and Potsdamer Platz.

We spent three nights at Regent Berlin and had an excellent stay. The hotel is located in center city and within one kilometer of all the sites and attractions. There are several great restaurants within 100 yards as well. Our room was beautiful and we felt like we had an apartment to ourselves. The staff was very professional and accommodating...

Rooms are comfy, spacious and quiet. Classy interior and it is clear it has undergone renovation to incorporate modern facilities. That is always much appreciated. However service is not great - reception got impatient when I questioned her about the direction she has given me. The signs that she asked me to look out for were no longer there but...

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
