This place was mind blowing, and absolutely the best hotel I have stayed in until this date. The room was huge and very german, but in the best way, I don't think I have ever taken so many pictures of a bathroom as I did in this place, it was so beautiful. Also because this trip was at the beginning... More

We stayed for 7 nights in October 2015. The Regent Berlin is absolutely 5 star in quality, comfort, service and location. Walking distance to the ubahn or simply walk to great beer haus', restaurants, shopping and cultural sites. If you can afford it than look no further.

We booked this hotel through a third party website after traveling through Serbia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The hotel is in what was East Berlin located conveniently near shopping, i.e. the Galleries Lafayette. Check Point Charlie is about 10 minutes walking distance from there as are other major sites such as the Holocaust memorial. The hotel is very near... More

The Regent Berlin is a great hotel in a wonderful location. We booked thru our travel agent and because we paid with Amex platinum we were upgraded to a suite at check-in. Service was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and included in our original booking. The hotel's location is close to restaurants, coffee shops and shopping . Galeries Lafayette is just... More

This Regent was truly a joy! The wonderful location in the Gendarmenmarkt area is close to sights, transportation and terrific restaurants. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite (gorgeous!) in the quiet side, where we could watch the New Year's fireworks from our bed. The staff was incredibly helpful, breakfast buffet beautiful, bar warm and cozy. Particular hats off... More

Upon checking in we were given a (well rehearsed) greeting to hotel, its services and its nearby attractions. Such a seamless walk through transition from check-in to elevator. The room was a very spacious English Victorian style with comfortable beds. Enormous and beautiful bathroom to pamper our weary tourist legs. Complimentary international breakfast buffet was stocked with fresh, simple and... More

Having never been before, we decided to go to Berlin in early Dec to visit the Christmas markets and look around Berlin. We managed to get a great deal to stay in the Regent Hotel conveniently located two blocks from the main street, Unter den Linden that runs east to west. Also up the road from a great Christmas market.... More

The Regent Berlin is definitely the option is you want something old school - unfortunately it is traditional without much charme. The price is hefty for what you get, but with a few small changes the hotel could capitalise on its tradition and architecture and turn it into a brilliant characteristic hotel. Unfortunately there aren't better options in close proximity,... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
