I had reservations here, but they are closed because of storm damage. It is going to be sold and will have to be repaired before it can reopen. The city closed the hotel because of lightning and thunder storm damage. I had to find another hotel quickly. The owner let me know right away that he was closed.

This hotel is right in the middle of town. Short walk from train station within walled town. No is it not an American "type" hotel but an authentic 600 year old hotel with a ton of character and charm. Clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast very hearty, staff very willing to accommodate.

This hotel is extremely poor. We stayed on a coach tour (Back Roads Tours) so had no choice in the matter. Rooms are TINY, towels are threadbare and we might as well use a handkerchief. Beds were falling apart in some of the rooms occupied by people in the group. Showers and bathrooms are tiny and the shower curtains in... More

Room was older and not updated or even maintained very well. Bathroom needed repairs in the shower (shower head was not connected at all). Strict check in time policy. Breakfast was included and ok but all condiments were off brand lower quality. This only showed the continued approach by the owners to cut corners at every opportunity. Location was good... More

great location, nice quiet hotel but needs a bit of a refurb, tiny shower room looks like it came out of a caravan, no staff at the hotel after about 7 o'clock and the main door is locked so you have to go round the back, not a problem though this is a no crime town, very old building, maybe... Perfect location in the middle of the town. The Wifi internet connection was perfect and our room was immaculately clean. Yes, the bathrooms were fiberglass, but what do you expect to be put into a 600 year old building? They were clean and very functional - great hot water and water pressure. Breakfast was typical European - cold cuts and... More

The location of this hotel (and i use this word highly), was excellent. It is dead centre to the area. BUT the rooms are old and out dated. There is so much room for improvement that once you have been shown to your room you want to leave. On arrival they insist you pay in full for your room. This... More

Sad looking rooms stinking of old tobacco. Had booked a family room only to be offered two small double rooms instead. Seemingly clean on the surface but the general lack of refurbishment and redecoration hides years of neglect and thorough cleaning. The rooms were hardly furnished and the little furniture that was in the room was screaming for an overhaul.... More
