What a great stay! Hotel Klingentor was a 2 minute walk to that very gate entering into the walled city. The hosts were among the friendliest people we met in Germany. When we came down to breakfast, our table was announced with an American flag, and the other tables were similarly adorned with the guests' home flags. The meal, service... More

We had a great stay here. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were large and clean, not fancy, but what you would expect in a family home in Germany. The breakfast was wonderful and typically kept us satisfied until mid-afternoon. They do not serve dinner, but do offer beer, so you can sit outside on the patio... More

We stayed here for just 1 evening. We had 2 rooms. It is family run. The woman greeted us and showed us where to park. The gentleman helped us to our rooms and explained where everything was in the hotel and town. He spoke English. The rooms are simple and quite dated. It was very quiet and there was free... More

Don't expect amazing luxury, but do expect a very clean and well kept guesthouse with a lovely couple as wonderful hosts. Nothing is a problem and they will attend to any question you have. The rooms were all very spacious and the bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom itself! The owner even kindly offered us bikes to rent... More

We stayed in the hotel for one night only. The hotel is situated near town gate KLINGENTOR. You can park your car there for free (in the courtyard of the hotel). The rooms are average but very clean. It's that kind of 70s/80s feeling, you know? But hey, you are in Rothenburg and will certainly spend more time in town... More

From start to finish this was a delightful stay. The room was spacious and immaculate. The bathroom was ridiculously large and that was also wonderful. Coming to breakfast this morning we found our seats assigned by the flags of the country we come from. Nice touch and great breakfast. The location was near to one of the old town gates... More

This was a nice B&B just outside the walls of old town. The room was clean but small and dated but just what we expected looking at the pictures of other guests. The couple who run the place are very friendly but their English is limited so we didn't talk much. Breakfast was good but like most places we stayed... More

First the good points, great welcome, good location just outside the town wall beyond the Klingentor town entrance/gateway. Breakfast, first-class, in fact if anything there was too much. So what's unique? The family that run the hotel are very personable and sociable, they even waved flags at the door to wise us well on our way. Other comments on Tripadvisor... More

Nice welcome from Madam, who showed us to a very large, very clean room with the biggest bathroom ever experienced! Décor a bit kitsch and dated, but added to the charm - a lovely room. Excellent location just outside city walls, parking in hotel grounds. Excellent breakfast - certainly would not leave hungry, served by a very cheery, chatty Madam.... More
