We weren't exactly sure where this was located, but it was definitely worth the short drive outside of Rothenburg. It is a step back in time of old Germany. The accommodations were fantastic, the breakfast was wonderful and the quiet area was so appreciated. There are several sitting areas to enjoy with family and friends to chat and relax. The...

This hotel is outside Rothenburg but within strolling distance as long as steeply sloping path can be managed. It is typical family owned hotel in that the staff are welcoming and very helpful. Our room was clean, well lit & furnished. It was accessed via a large, comfortable lounge. There is a veranda along the front of the building which...

We had a two night stay at this hotel while visiting Rothenburg and it was fantastic. We were in the annexe and had spacious rooms that had been recently renovated; very comfortable beds; good showers and a quiet location. The food was really good, lovely breakfasts and beautifully cooked evening meals on the terrace served by smiling, happy staff most...

Very good and quiet place to stay, away from the historic center of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, but still close enough. Take into account a climbing walk of + - 10 minutes to the center of Rothenburg, but this was no objection (we were on vacation and not a race). Easily accessible by car (located on the Romantische Strasse) and...

The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and it was so, so clean! The staff cooks in the restaurant on the ground floor and wow, they do a fantatic job! The front desk staff speaks English and they're extremely helpful and sweet. If you want Internet, ask for the password at the desk. It's not a long drive to...

I was looking for a hotel outside the city where I could walk around the nature and found the Gasthof Schwarzes Lamm, a retro-styled Hotel just outside Rothenburg in a small village called Detwang. It was possible to reach the city in a few minutes by foot across a path wich offered a great view but also to walk around...

My husband, daughter and I stayed in this hotel for the Thanksgiving holiday. My husband wanted a place with free WiFi and I wanted to be able to walk and the hotel is only about 2.5K away from Rothenburg...uphill, but a lovely walk. The hotel has very nice sitting rooms and the rooms were large and warm. The beds were...

We stayed here one night and it was really nice. We had a 3 bed room with 1 double bed and 1 bed on a small single built in bed. It doesn't sound comfortable, but for one night, it was just fine. It was quiet since it is out of town about 2 km from Rothenburg o.d. T. While we...

The location is very beautiful, in a little village outside Rothenburg. We stayed with two young children and we slept in a spacious bedroom with clean bath. The breakfast was very good, but I still remember the amazing menu in the restaurant ! What a wonderful dinner ! I also tasted local beers in a large terrace in front of...

The best thing about the Schwarzes Lamm is its location. In the oldest part of Rothenburg a couple of kilometres down the hill from the walled city, it is situated in what is effect a self-contained village, but one with easy access to the city and its sights. We drove, but it is possible to walk or bicycle; the latter...
