We've always dreamed of creating our own hotel - and are keen to introduce guests from all over the world to our idea of a perfect stay in our hometown, the beautiful city of Munich. The Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar is for aficionados, who appreciate at- tention to detail, design and personalized service. The space is an intimate alternative for guests that have seen their share of nondescript business hotels. It may not be for everyone - but it may be just the place for you... Our hotel is situated on the top two floors of an industrial building in Munich's most vibrant neighborhood, the Glockenbach - just a couple of me- ters from the Isar's wild river banks. The third floor features 11 individual rooms with exceptionally high ceilings, each created in collaboration with selected personalities and friends from various creative realms, including music, cinema, design, sports and art. The top floor is home to five variously sized rooms, three of these with private terrace - as well as the Flushing Meadows Bar. This haven for locals and guests alike, serves exquisite drinks and boasts a panorama view over the southern roofs of Munich from our sunny terrace. The Flushing Meadows is an homely retreat and inspiring meeting place for open-minded guests. Servus, it's great to have you!

The location of the hotel is the best thing about it as it is really close to the Underground, the river, lots of nice little independent shops and bars/restaurants. The interior design is cool, but the mattresses were not great, they were really soft. We stayed in the 3rd floor under the bar. Unfortunately there was a private function and it was really loud in our room. There was only coffee (nespresso) on offer in the room, but 2 capsules are rather meagre for the room price. (there was no mini-bar, no tea, just two complimentary 2 small bottles of water). The self check-in was well explained and easy to do.

The best part about our stay was having met Ekke, the bartender, and Victoria at the front desk. Ekke was truly the best! He made great cocktails and was super nice. He made our time at the bar very enjoyable. Victoria was also lovely and provided us with great recommendations of things to do and see in Munich. I do have to say that our room was so tiny that it was a bit laughable and I’m used to smaller rooms living in NEw York City. The hotel has no frills other than the bar but is located in a cool neighborhood. Lots of great restaurants nearby that aren’t touristy but it’s also only a 10 min walk to the main touristy areas so the best of both worlds. Super convenient.

We enjoyed our time here but probably wouldnt stay again.

The room missed some touches, (eg- we had to plug in all the lamps when we arrived as they were unplugged, the complimentary bottles of water werent replaced in the room after day 1), but the basics were great. A lovely bedroom with high ceilings and cool features.

On the positives, we had cocktails one night in the bar and really enjoyed it. The reception also helped me book dinner one night and even recomended an excellent sushi place. We enjoyed the complimentary crossiants and coffee in the bar on our last morning, we probably would have gone here every morning however we werent aware that this was on offer! There should be a sign in the hallway/in the rooms inviting hotel guests up in the morning for a complimentary coffee and pastry.

However this is a fun design hotel. It felt a bit more of an air b&b as there isnt a recpetion when you enter but if youre looking for a relaxed and chilled out spot, you will like it here.

I chose the Flushing Meadows for its location: easy access to bars and restaurants in a happening part of Munich, close to public transit (subway station Fraunhoferstrasse). It lived up to these expectations. In addition, staff was cool and friendly, the room was clean.
Yet the service delivered was not worth the EUR 140 / night (what I paid for a standard room without breakfast): Housekeeping did not clean my room one night; the rooms facing the street are inadequately insulated and consequently really noisy; room and bathroom were rather basic; the shower could not be closed with a door, hence you end up flooding the bathroom when showering; bike rental was not available (allegedly because of Covid).

While the Flushing Meadows is a nice hotel with a really great bar on the fourth floor, I would look for more value for money next time I am in Munich.

Unfortunately, the hotel is run very unprofessionally, the windows facing the street were very dirty,
Air conditioning did not work, when showering the water ran into the room and the materials used for the furnishings were very cheap, such as simply glued chipboard in the bathroom area which was badly adapted and painted over.
You had the feeling that there was no soul in the hotel, just making money quickly.

a pity...

You walk into this place and immediately feel that it is not run by experienced hoteliers. The whole experience was an endless series of small shortcomings that add up to one big disappointment. It starts with the smell of slightly burned olive oil in the hallways, coming from the kitchen of a pizza place in the same building. It continues with partially broken light bulbs in the room and other broken fixtures, like the hair dryer that made us late for an appointment because the front desk was unresponsive.
Room service is sloppy at best, leaving a cleaning glove in the room and bursting into our room before checking out. Would not come back even if they paid me.

The only positive thing about this place is its location, many nice bars and shops around.

The rooms are each individually designed which makes this hotel unique and extraordinary. So it definitely looks nice.

BUT:
Stayed on the 3rd floor below the bar and it can get quite noisy in the evening. Walls are thin and you can hear people walking outside on your floor and from the bar above. Also when taking the shower, the floor flooded quite easily as the wall is not big enough to prevent water coming out. @hotel staff: would be great to fix it, I stayed in room 310

Dear MthotheH, thank you very much for your feedback. We are happy you mostly enjoyed your stay with us. The Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar is in the center of the City and the building is an old industrial building. In the 3rd floor you have 3m high, concrete ceilings. We are very sorry you have felt disturbed. Please let us assure you we always try to make you feel as comfortable as possible and take your feedback serious to work on our improvement. We also check the rooms daily and of course had a look on the issue with the shower. We hope we can welcome you again. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly so we can make sure to match the room to your needs. Warm regards, The Flushing Meadows Crew

Wonderful little gem in the Gärtnerplatz area. 2 minutes to the river (Isar Auen), where there's a kiosk that's open 23 hours - very rare in Munich! The hotel is on floor 3 and 4, and has a charming little rooftop/terrace bar on the 4th floor. This is also where you'll get your croissants and coffees in the morning. Every room is different, very funky, very high ceilings, almost like a New York loft. Vey clean and quiet. 3 minutes walk to Gärtnerplatz, 4 minutes to Viktualienmarkt and so on. And the whole area is beaming with cafes, bars and restaurants. Public transport right in front of the door. Very friendly and helpful staff!

Spent four days here and it was a lovely place to base our Munich adventure. Complimentary coffee and croissants (along with espresso in the rooms) made mornings a treat. The small size of the hotel made every interaction a human one, rather than a big problem. Really enjoyed the location, which is central to, well, everything. I'll be staying here again. Highly recommended.

Just terrible. Be aware if getting roughly 20 emails for confirmation, proccess, check in, check out, key handling....
The hotel is barely visible from the street and there is no quick parking to get the garage key. IF u find the keybox anyways. There is also absolutely 0 ppl there to help so u end up browsing through 6 mails in order to find directions on "how to...".
Just not worth the money and very stressful

Hi there! Pretty sure only the Penthouse rooms on the 4th floor have a terrace. I was on the 3rd floor in a loft room and did not have a terrace. Does furnace = fireplace? My room did not have a fireplace either. The hotel was easy to communicate with over email so they should be able to help you!

Any fitness centre?
Munich, Germany
No but our free gym, swimming pool and solarium are located just 100 meters from the hotel. The Isar beaches and promenade are ideal for jogging, swimming, bike riding or just hanging out in the sun.

Dear SuperTim69, thank you very much for your kind email. The third floor is home to 11 unique rooms, all of which feature reinforced concrete ceilings over four meters in height. Each of these rooms was created in close collaboration with selected personalities. All rooms on the fourth floor are flooded with light, boasting sensational views as well as high-brow interiors equipped with stained solid wood, fabric-panelled walls and copper detailing. You will not hear any noise from the rooftop bar. Additionally, every room displays exclusive illustrations and paintings by the young Berlin-based artist Maximilian Rödel. Three of the five penthouse studios on the top floor offer personal terrace access with a splendid view of the neighborhood. The other two studios face north, overlooking famous Fraunhoferstrasse. We are very much looking forward to welcome you soon. Kind regards

What is the best way to get to the hotel from MUC and how long does it take? Thanks!
Munich, Germany
Hi there, sorry for the wait. A cab is around is 60 eur door to door (45 mins). The public transports system is very depandable and safe - and should take you around one hour. Take the "S-Bahn" (S8 or S1) from the airport to "Hauptbanhof" - then change to underground (U-Bahn) and take the U2 for two stations and get out at "Fraunhoferstrasse". Take stairs up at front of train. See the big building with the copper logo? That's us in Fraunstrasse 32. Take the elevator to the 4th floor and unwind....
