We've always dreamed of creating our own hotel - and are keen to introduce guests from all over the world to our idea of a perfect stay in our hometown, the beautiful city of Munich. The Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar is for aficionados, who appreciate at- tention to detail, design and personalized service. The space is an intimate alternative for guests that have seen their share of nondescript business hotels. It may not be for everyone - but it may be just the place for you... Our hotel is situated on the top two floors of an industrial building in Munich's most vibrant neighborhood, the Glockenbach - just a couple of me- ters from the Isar's wild river banks. The third floor features 11 individual rooms with exceptionally high ceilings, each created in collaboration with selected personalities and friends from various creative realms, including music, cinema, design, sports and art. The top floor is home to five variously sized rooms, three of these with private terrace - as well as the Flushing Meadows Bar. This haven for locals and guests alike, serves exquisite drinks and boasts a panorama view over the southern roofs of Munich from our sunny terrace. The Flushing Meadows is an homely retreat and inspiring meeting place for open-minded guests. Servus, it's great to have you!

Fun urban hotel with industrial, loft-style chic. Great location with half a block to the Ubahn station and quick walk to Vitualienmarkt. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The only drawback would be the limited breakfast (croissants, coffee, juice) if you are looking for a typical German breakfast.

I went for business trip and prior to my arrival i get the info that there is no staff working after 5 so you cannot check-in, you have to get your key from a safe on the street. The whole building is a warehouse/old warehouse so the look is ok cool but the feeling is not a hotel. This should not be classified as an hotel when you do not have staff working there, no kitchen to serve any food, and well there was a bar but the only person working that day did not even ask if we wanted anything to drink. The room is okay, nice bathroom but very cold and my regulator was not working. On my second night there was a terrible burnt smell in the entire hotel (2 floors) and no one to contact about the problem, since there was no staff available at all. It smelled like there was a fire in the building. I would not recommend this place. WAY too expensive for what you're getting. Totally overrated.

Imagine a reality TV show where a group of 20-something hipsters (none of whom had ever stayed in a luxury boutique hotel) had to design a “luxury boutique hotel”. Flushing Meadows would be the result. Named after a dilapidated public park in New York City’s unglamorous borough of Queens, this really isn’t a “hotel” in any traditional sense. It is an urban guesthouse that consists of a shabby bar and a few interestingly-designed rooms on the top floors of a nondescript building on a busy street. It has ZERO amenities. No restaurant, no pool, no sauna, no concierge, no reception. It is completely unstaffed during the night. The kids who worked there were pleasant and seemed eager to help, but they appeared to have no real hospitality industry experience. My first impression when I walked through the difficult-to-find front door was that I had come in through a service entrance. I found myself in a dark hallway / stairwell with shabby black curtains and carpet and nothing to give the impression that I had entered a “hotel” except for a dark copper-lined elevator. What little signage existed was difficult to spot, and even more difficult to decipher. After some trial-and-error, I found myself in the grungy bar (which doubles as the reception) on the 4th floor. There they gave me the key to a tiny black room which had to be accessed via the beer bottle and dirty ashtray strewn outdoor terrace. Turned out they gave me the wrong room, but that was eventually sorted out. The room I actually booked was one of their penthouses which was larger, and is advertised is as having a “personal” terrace. (There is nothing “personal” about having a terrace shared by the bar and the room next door.) The design of the two rooms I saw is definitely unusual, and while it strives to be high-end, it just doesn’t quite get there. It is inconsistent, and it is pretty apparent that corners were cut. Black walls and copper bathroom fixtures are contrasted by furnishings that could have been from IKEA, and art and decorations that look liked they were purchased from a Salvation Army store. The rooms had a Nespresso and a couple of bottles of water, but lacked basic features like a luggage rack or mini fridge, and ventilation in the bathrooms is inadequate (leaving the door open when showering is essential you want to have any chance of keeping the mirror fog-free). The receptionist / bartender was inexperienced (didn’t know what an Irish Whiskey was) and my drink cost €24 for a double. Breakfast the following morning consisted only of croissants with a choice of jam, marmalade, or butter. The bottom line is that I was very disappointed with my stay at Flushing Meadows. Shame on me, I suppose for not doing more research, but I think it is fair to say that their website really oversells this place. Rather than a luxury boutique hotel, it would be more accurately described a pretty basic (overpriced) urban guesthouse

We had such a great time here! We split our time in Munich between three different hotels to scope out some variety, and Flushing Meadows was our favorite. It was so nice to be a tiny bit outside the main tourist area (although it's so accessible on foot or with transit), and the hotel itself was a gem. Feels very casual and relaxed, check-in was a breeze, and the light continental breakfast was excellent. We were a bit worried about the potential for noise from the rooftop bar reaching our room, but this wasn't an issue. Our room was perfectly soundproofed and the bar wasn't that loud, even on a Saturday night during Oktoberfest. We had a room on the back side of the hotel facing away from the street, so we opened all our windows wide, which made for a delightfully cool sleep. The mattress, pillows, and blankets were also super comfortable. We're definitely staying here next time we're back in Munich. The pizza window on the ground floor was also a delicious post-Oktoberfest stop. Only issues: housekeeping forgot to re-up our coffee pods one morning, and the bathroom is a tiny bit small for how big the rest of the room is. Keep in mind that the hotel has staff onsite from about 8AM-1AM, but not in the middle of the night. We didn't find this to be an issue at all but it's just something to be aware of.

Very cool hotel with relaxed atmosphere. Kind and helpful staff. The rooftop bar was cozy and well equipped. Also good coffee and warm croissant in the morning. Nice neighborhood with small independent shops and many nice restaurants and bars. Walking distance to inner city.

Wonderful little gem in the Gärtnerplatz area. 2 minutes to the river (Isar Auen), where there's a kiosk that's open 23 hours - very rare in Munich! The hotel is on floor 3 and 4, and has a charming little rooftop/terrace bar on the 4th floor. This is also where you'll get your croissants and coffees in the morning. Every room is different, very funky, very high ceilings, almost like a New York loft. Vey clean and quiet. 3 minutes walk to Gärtnerplatz, 4 minutes to Viktualienmarkt and so on. And the whole area is beaming with cafes, bars and restaurants. Public transport right in front of the door. Very friendly and helpful staff!

We enjoyed our time here but probably wouldnt stay again. The room missed some touches, (eg- we had to plug in all the lamps when we arrived as they were unplugged, the complimentary bottles of water werent replaced in the room after day 1), but the basics were great. A lovely bedroom with high ceilings and cool features. On the positives, we had cocktails one night in the bar and really enjoyed it. The reception also helped me book dinner one night and even recomended an excellent sushi place. We enjoyed the complimentary crossiants and coffee in the bar on our last morning, we probably would have gone here every morning however we werent aware that this was on offer! There should be a sign in the hallway/in the rooms inviting hotel guests up in the morning for a complimentary coffee and pastry. However this is a fun design hotel. It felt a bit more of an air b&b as there isnt a recpetion when you enter but if youre looking for a relaxed and chilled out spot, you will like it here.
