I received a warm welcome from Monika on my arrival and during my stay nothing was too much trouble for her. My room was very spacious for a single person, clean and, in spite of the fact that it overlooked Academiestrasse, very quiet. The breakfast, included in the price of the room, was very good. The toilets/showers were a short... More

My friends and I booked two rooms here for a 4 night stay in Munich - this turned out to be one of the best decisions of our trip! The rooms were spacious, light, and included a basin area. The bathrooms are shared but due to the small size of this pension you rarely have to wait, and they were... More

When I first reached this hotel I wasn't sure if I was at the right place: there's an enormous wooden door big enough for a horse and carriage to drive through .. which is exactly why it was built that way. Reception is several floors up in a fantastically ancient elevator then when you make it to reception the staff... More

First off, the staff (especially Monika) is extremely friendly and helpful. Always asking if you need anything or how she can make things better. The couple who run this (her husband Karl is great, but knows little English...he's helpful and great though) made the stay so great. Location is less than 5 min walk from metro Akademiestrasse. So easy to... More

We had a lovely stay here. The location is fabulous - right at the edge of the Englischer Garten and a short walk from the underground. If you are interested in WWII / Holocaust history, make sure to take note of the White Rose memorials in the area. The hotel also proved to be family friendly. Monica provided a cot... More

The lovely Monica was the best hostess we had in all of Europe! Friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble and made us feel right at home in Munich. Rooms very small but clean and comfortable and provided the BEST breakfasts in a delightful breakfast room. Beautiful old buidling and loved the lift (though my daughter was too... More

Very good for it's price. It's an old but comfortable place (it was -12º outside but it was warm and cozy in the hotel), the breakfast was great and the hostess was very nice, always offering this and that (maybe a little fixation on boiled eggs! :-) ). The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and was included in the price, which is... More

Room 57, quiet and on floor 5 served by the lift, is quite narrow, say about 8-9 feet wide. It has two single beds, it's own shower and lavatory etc. The room overlooks the quiet back. The view here will not send you into a rapturous swoon, but it is open, spacious enough and light. I suspect the front picks... More

Pros: - Our room was small, clean and functional. - Rooms available with ensuite bathrooms as well as shared bathrooms. - The bedding is firm, but very comfortable. - There is plenty of closet space. - The public areas of the hotel are warm, welcoming and homey. - The hotel is located on several floors of a classic old building... Simple and comfortable room in an interesting old house. The hotel is in a quiet part of Munich next to the University and within easy walking distance to many sites, or there is a U-Bahn station right around the corner if you need the metro. The breakfast room is cheerful and breakfast is excellent. I can't say enough about how... More
