Hotel Eder is in a quiet by-street in Munich's centre between Central Station and the Theresienwiese. Within a walk of a few minutes you find a large number of cinemas, restaurants, small theatres, and, of course, the State Opera House and the "Deutsche Theater". The Octoberfest area and also a lot of typical bavarian beergardens are very close to the hotel and reachable in 10 minutes by foot. The Central Station (150 meters close to the hotel) is the transit point of several public transports for a quick and comfort way to Munich's new trade fair and the airport. • Tradition The hotel exists since 1947 and is managed by the owner family Eder with traditional bavarian hospitality.

One week before our scheduled arrival, i had a stomach major operation when my Gall Bladder was removed. I emailed them if they can change our room in much lower floor. They responded that they were fully booked but will help us carry our luggage in the topmost floor (no lift). When we arrived nobody helps us. Hotel Eder should improve their customer service in the reception area. Should have been kind, at least. Aside from that, everything is excellent.

The room was located at the front of the hotel. Right about the bins. Constantly woken all night by street noise and traffic. Hardly any sleep. You also get noise from walking in the room above. Not good if you are a light sleeper. I think we were unlucky with the position of our room. However, staff very helpful, room clean, albeit very small, great breakfast.

We just enjoyed a 5 week European holiday and this hotel was the best. Hasn’t got all the bells and whistles of the 5 star hotels but makes up for it in service. The breakfast is incredible and certainly gets you ready to enjoy a big day of sightseeing. We can only hope we will be back!!!

Loved our 3 night stay here at the Eder. Our room was large and very comfortable, perfect for the 3 of us. Breakfast was fantastic everything you needed to full you up for a long day of exploring. Convenient location and very multicultural. A few minutes walk to the Hauptbanhof and 10 minutes walk down to the Marienplatz. Plenty of places to eat around the area and supermarkets close by. If we come back to Munich we will definitely stay again!

Based on prior reviews I took a chance and booked this hotel well in advance plus pre-paying to ensure we had a room for four people in Munich for the busy Christmas market season. We stayed five nights. The hotel rooms are spartan but clean, warm, very quiet and safe. The location was excellent about 5 minutes walk from the main railway station. It is situated an a bit of a grubby street but no one ever bothered us. Cost for the five nights was good. Even Ibis for four people is now becoming ridiculous. The hotel staff and included breakfast was excellent. My family all agrees that we highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

Room Tip: The hotel has no elevator so a lower floor is best.
