Just arrived back from 3 nights at the hotel. Firstly many thanks to Anke, Shovawn and the rest of the team (especially the Croatian waiter in the bar - sorry didn’t get his name). From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were attentive and helpful. I was with my 3 grown up kids (a birthday treat from them) so we wanted a mix of sightseeing relaxation and some good food and beer. The hotel provided us with maps, purchased our day passes for us, and printed out the travel routes. We also hired bikes at the hotel for the second day which were in great condition and we had a full day up and down the river and in the Englischer Garten. The hotel is well located for the gardens, there’s a bus stop outside, as well as a couple of tram stops within 5 minutes walk which gives you access to all the rest of the city. Quick summary Breakfast was excellent - very well managed, plentiful food of good quality, and a superb egg station. Staff were great and kept us topped up with juice and coffee Rooms were large and clean, beds comfy and bathroom well fitted. We had a balcony overlooking the river which was great for the evening sunshine. Exec lounge was closed, but they had opened up a room in the main bar with full complimentary service and the waiter brought us a sampler plate of Bavarian snacks ... which were excellent. We had a great time courtesy of the staff and despite the issue of Covid We will be back next year. …
So we have been here before and liked the location and the hotel itself so booked and arrived at 1600 as stated as check in time, so they made us wait half hour for room no explanation why? Room a bit of a let down since it’s a good size and lovely decor but poor maintenance and bath broken bits and looks like it can have a bit of love, Ok we go out to dinner not in the hotel since it’s a bit expensive and the staff don’t really want to be here We get back and approach the bar for some fresh milk so we can make a cup of tea and the guy quotes 12.5 euros Good luck! SORRY NOT FIR ME,
The Hilton Munich Park is nice enough and has large chain hotel facilities. Rooms are clean. Bed is furnished with crisp white bed linens. Mattress rock hard and rather uncomfortable. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Our problem - in the age of corona virus, with the restaurant closed, guests desperate to find a place to eat are served unimaginative „freezer-to-fryer“ type cuisine at ultra premium prices. Cocktails for 12.50€ - very light of alcohol. I had 1.5 centimeters of Campari AND Ice for the same price. Large bottle of water 9€! Sad bar food dinner for 7 - 275€!!!! This all means that we will never stay at a Hilton hotel again. Price gouging at its worst.
We arrived late in the evening. We could see availability for a King Room on Booking.com but decided to go directly to the hotel. At the reception, they at first told us that they had no regular King available, but only a more expensive suite. Only after showing them that we can book a King room on Booking.com, did they stop trying to up-sell the more expensive room. The room was spacious, but very dirty. You could see the dust on all surfaces. It was also very stuffy and the airco wasn’t working properly. We ended up opening the balcony door, but there was a lot of noise coming from the outside. The bedding was very rough. We barely got any sleep that night.
We booked this hotel at the end of our 10 day travels through Bavaria and loved everything about it, including the air conditioning! We loved the location near the Englisher Gardens and the ability to rent a bike directly from the hotel to take in all of the sites in the park. We found that taking the bus to the subway was quite easy for our trips to the Marienplatz. The accommodations were high quality with great views of the river and park behind the hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay!
