The Hilton Munich Park is nice enough and has large chain hotel facilities. Rooms are clean. Bed is furnished with crisp white bed linens. Mattress rock hard and rather uncomfortable. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Our problem - in the age of corona virus, with the restaurant closed, guests desperate to find a place to eat are served unimaginative „freezer-to-fryer“ type cuisine at ultra premium prices. Cocktails for 12.50€ - very light of alcohol. I had 1.5 centimeters of Campari AND Ice for the same price. Large bottle of water 9€! Sad bar food dinner for 7 - 275€!!!! This all means that we will never stay at a Hilton hotel again. Price gouging at its worst.
We arrived late in the evening. We could see availability for a King Room on Booking.com but decided to go directly to the hotel. At the reception, they at first told us that they had no regular King available, but only a more expensive suite. Only after showing them that we can book a King room on Booking.com, did they stop trying to up-sell the more expensive room. The room was spacious, but very dirty. You could see the dust on all surfaces. It was also very stuffy and the airco wasn’t working properly. We ended up opening the balcony door, but there was a lot of noise coming from the outside. The bedding was very rough. We barely got any sleep that night.
We booked this hotel at the end of our 10 day travels through Bavaria and loved everything about it, including the air conditioning! We loved the location near the Englisher Gardens and the ability to rent a bike directly from the hotel to take in all of the sites in the park. We found that taking the bus to the subway was quite easy for our trips to the Marienplatz. The accommodations were high quality with great views of the river and park behind the hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We booked this hotel as along weekend holiday. Getting to the hotel was easy with taxi from the airport. As a Hilton Honors Gold member we could do online check-in and choose our room in advance, but as we were upgraded to executive floor we just went with the suggested room. We were warmly greeted at the reception, and room was ready for our 1 PM arrival. Room had a great view of the English park. Breakfast was magnificent, with lots of options. Omelet made to order, espresso/cappucino prepared on demand. Breakfast room had a couple of tables overlooking the river flowing by. The last day of our stay was marked by the oncoming Covid19- pandemic, so the number of guests was reducing. The breakfast was somewhat reduced also, but we were told to order whatever we wanted that was not already out. We had access to executive lounge, which sadly was closed due to the pandemic. Instead we got vouchers for free drinks at the bar, and got a slot for evening snacks. Tram to city centre ran only 5 minutes away. A short warning here: You are told to buy tickets on at machine INSIDE the tram. What is not said is that this machine do NOT take cards AND require EXACT CHANGE - meaning 3.30 Euro in coins only - you cannot overpay. At some larger stops there are machines that take cards /bills and let you buy more tickets. For our part taxi to hotel was just 2 Euro more than tram fare for 2 persons so we used that some of the time. This was absolutely up to the standard we expect from the Hilton Brand. The service at breakfast and regarding the virus outbreak was above and beyond what we could possibly expect. We will not look otherwise when returning to Munich. Let us hope it will not be long.…
After a fairly long flight from Southern California we were greeted warmly at the front desk. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance to the English Gardens and many other attractions (including museums). The highlight of our stay tho was the breakfast buffet. It was well worth the $$ and I recommend you get it when it’s offered at check in. The food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. I think it was the best breakfast we had while in Europe.
