Enjoyed our stay here. All a bit tired and dated. Breakfast was good. We had lovely views from our block but it was pretty steep to get to our room. You could walk underground to reception if you wanted a longer easier walk. Reception staff were friendly. The outside bar area needed a good sweep. There were odd bits of broken glass. Our room was clean

We stayed at the Dorint on Easter weekend. Overall a good experience with breakfast service and offerings being very good. However, our Son made the reservation for two double rooms closed together, one for three nights and ours for one. He confirmed the reservation and the close proximity again a few days prior. His room was greatly renovated with wonderful bathroom and clean and well appointed new interior design. However, our room 330 in a very different opposite house, was not renovated, with the carpet being worn out and at least urgent shampooing needing , no slippers provided, which would be needed on this carpet. The balcony table leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately the team member at the Reception seemed to be very indifferent, firstly with the inflexibility in the room allocation and assigning a not renovated room in a not requested proximity; probably thinking a one nighter on a first visit; not so important !!! Secondly, the receptionist seems very unpleasantly surprised, when we requested information about Easter Catholic Mass Services, with hesitation to assist. As mentioned, overall still a reasonable good experience of the hotel, with good location, concept and breakfast offerings,

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your detailed comment. This helps us to improve our service qualities in all areas. We are very sorry that you were not completely satisfied with your stay and want to apologize for the inconvenience. Due to the fact that we only have two renovated sample rooms, we cannot offer a renovated room to all our guests. But we really hope to offer it soon. Rest assured that all guests are important to us, whether it's only one night or multiple. We hope that you give us another chance to proof our capabilities. Kind regards, Stefanie Lüdtke (General Manager) and team

The hotel is in a fantastic location, with views of the mountains, and even the ski jump from the window. My room was large, with a separate seating area. The decor is a little old fashioned, but it was clean and felt authentically German. Restaurant is classic Bavarian style, with good quality food and drink. The spa area is very nice with good facilities. I was here for business meetings. The meeting rooms are spacious and comfortable.

At a rate of EUR 220+ per night, we expected a calm, well-maintained, scenic and professional hotel experience. Unfortunately, we found neither. Rooms are equipped with kitchenettes which are unlocked at an extra charge of EUR 30 (we did not opt for this). The (locked-in) old kitchenette fridge kept us awake all of our first night. Staff acknowledged the poor state of this equipment and admitted several guests had complained about this noise before us. Thankfully they turned the fridge off for our second night. But why was this on in the first place when we had not booked the kitchenette extra? We came for Alp calm - not noise of an old fridge we did not even have access to. Hotel facilities were old - all of it - all dated from when constructed (early or mid 70s?). Wall-to-wall carpets in room. Our roomed smelled of old cigarette smoke. We were tempted by beautiful looking photos of the hotel where balconies had unspoiled views of the Alps. Unfortunately our room was dark and had no view whatsoever - expect for a few trees and a railway track that had trains spoiling the tranquility we came for. Website photos for not live up to expectations! Waiters repeatedly did not take our requests seriously, whether we asked for frites to be replaced by potatoes, chicken to be added to our the vegetarian dish (waiter shrugged this request off, before eventually accepting for an extra charge), or forgetting to prop up our breakfast table (no butter on day one, no yoghurt on day two - all paid for). English skills also questionable. Aargh - for this price we expected so much more - this was unfortunately a disappointing stay for us. This is a pity because the hotel location is good and the place has some good potential if owners would only pay to maintain the place.

We stayed here for two nights given the pet-friendly policies. The hotel is on the edge of the town, but on the bus routes and within walking distance of everything. A bus pass is provided for those who want to take advantage of the public transport. The staff were all very friendly, and although none of the written documents (menus, forms, etc) were in English, everyone we interacted with spoke English. The breakfast was tasty and fresh - given COVID, the buffet is no longer an option, but items are delivered to your table, and hot items are cooked to order based on your submitted menu on the first evening. What ultimately lets the property down is the maintenance and upkeep - the carpets throughout are soiled, the rooms could use a refresh of decor, the bathrooms need a good scrub/re-grout. The grounds were also very overgrown, with long grass and weeds. We had a few big bugs in the room, including a cockroach. (We were on the ground floor.) The rooms are not air conditioned, and with the layout you can’t get a cross-breeze. Highs were only in the 70s and the room got really warm, so if you have trouble sleeping in the heat, I’d recommend an alternate property. A fan was kindly brought to the room, but it was caked in dust so I had to clean it myself.

We had stayed at this notel several times in the past but it has been several years since we have been there. We were staying there for a couple of nights. This was the time when the Corona Virus was starting to become a big thing. We arrived early since we were flying in from the US. We knew the checkin time was 4:30 but we got there around 11. We has the front desk lady to check to see if the room was ready but she just said checkin time was 4:30 without checking with the housekeeping. We started another front desk lady named Saundra who was just terrfic. we explained we had stayed there several times before and wished we could check in early after a long trip. She immediately made a call with housekeeping and found our room was indeed available - so thankful to her. We had planned to visit a couple of local attractions but Saundra told us they were closed but recommended a trip to the Alpspitz which we did and turned out to be gorgeous. Cant say enough about Saundra - she is a terrific employee. we found out later that the other front desk person who didn't even check to see if our room was ready was a new employee but I think you need to train these employees right at the beginning and make sure they are empowered to do thing to try and please the customer. The hotel predates WWII. The rooms are older but very well kept up. They give the place a special character. All the facilites in the room were modernized and wifi worked very well. All the rooms have a balcony or floor level patio - with views of the German Alps - again gorgeous. The breakfast which is included is just awesome - wide selection of food and all delicious. They have a very cozy bar area that deosnt remind you of a bar. We had dinner once there whihc was very good. You also get a free bus pass for the entire time you are staying there. You can't go wrong at staying beautiful place like this...

First time in Garmisch and Dorint Sport Hotel. Really Nice Hotel. Excellent SPA which is huge, has all you need... Everyday we used it. Garmich Partenkirchen has a lot sites to see. We did a lot of walking in the trails then when we came back to Hotel, right away we went to Spa Center to relax and enjoy. Excellent Open Buffet Breakfast everyhing you need is there. Friendly staff all around the Hotel. Hatem is a good bartender knows what to do, well done. One of the high lights is PETS are welcome of course in certain areas. Not in the restaurant but you can all sit together in Kaminn Bar and enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner.. We did with our Labrador. Highly recommended

This hotel has huge apartments, you have a lot of space, and 2 bathrooms for a family is a boon. Yes the decor is tired and the kitchenettes are not well equipped, and it fairly quiet for high summer season, the beer garden and BBQ was not really in action, but if you are looking for a calm and quiet place to stay this may suit you. As others have written, this hotel and Garmisch itself, has a higher proportion than most other resorts, of visitors from Gulf states (the Sultan of Oman has a house here) which may explain the bar being quiet. I would recommend this to people looking for space and mountain views. It is a little bit expensive for what it is.

The Dorint Sporthotel is an interesting place. The rooms are in different blocks, all connected by underground walkways as well as surface paths. They are of a good size with large seating area for 6 plus around a table. There is a kitchenette available but we didn’t select it. There was a kettle in the room. The balcony allowed us to sit outside. Car parking was in an underground car park below the leisure area. Pool is of a good size, but apparently you’re not allowed to swim properly….. We didn’t try the sauna area. This was a very comfortable stay, the breakfast had fantastic choices and the restaurant excellent. We would stay here again!

Staying here while I hike the area, really lucked out picking this hotel. Reception really spent time explaining the multiple sport facilities (spa, massage, pool, weight and exercise room etc), very convenient for Partnach Gorge and Hausberg bahn, free bus pass over to Zugspitze facilities. Incredible included breakfast buffet to tank up before a days hiking, underground parking. Lots of stairs etc to rooms but I got a top room and can see the Olympic ski jump from my balcony.....just beautiful. A very cool underground tunnel linking all the buildings will be handy in the winter but nice as well when it rains. Very pleased with the whole experience. Be aware not everyone in Germany speaks perfect English but if you try even a little German they respond enthusiastically. Hotel is very close to the Partnach village wonderful choice of restaurants and shops, check out wood carvings especially.
