We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Bavaria and cannot say enough about it and its owners!
I had requested and reserved the Bauernstube room which has a great view of the Watzmann Mountain. When we arrived they upgraded us to the Watzmannsuite, room #20...More
We has a lovely stay. The hotel overlooks busy roads. We walked up the hill to the town and had a grand time shopping and dining here. The breakfast in the morning was very well presented. Very cleaned and well run. Not far from Eagle's...More
Unbelievable service. Arrived at 830 pm and found the lobby locked. A simple phone call and we had a room, no questions asked. Trust by the owners was ultimate, they were the most hospitable people you can meet. They bent over backwards to assist, giving...More

Yes, very close. About 5km, so approx. 10 min by car from the hotel parking lot (which is right out the hotel door) to the Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg parking lot, which is where you will get on the special buses that continue on to the Kehlsteinhaus (Eagles Nest).
As also mentioned, you can take the bus. You will get free bus passes from Hotel Bavaria to ride all the local buses. Its a short 500m walk from the hotel to the bus station. Grab the bus and it will take you to the Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg and you will catch the special bus as before. This will take a little longer.
