We were there for a longer snow board trip and being close to all we needed, ski slopes from bus station is easy, food and train station also close made our stay excellent. Clean and ok rooms, kind staff. The room we got was a top one so the roof itself cut the sides a bit but was sufficient. The bed could be better though.
We had a fabulous stay at this hotel, the location is in a good position 8 min walk to the station and main bus stop you also get a bus pass to use on all the buses for free which was a nice touch x room was small but was ok for a few nights hot shower was good had a lovely view of the mountain which was nice x The breakfast was good with lots of hams and cheese fresh juice and tasty rolls x I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely be coming back x thanks for a relaxing stay x
Me and my friends had 2days here and we were very happy with everything. Nice and personal service . We were 4 so booked a large room. Yes this is not a fancy place and yes the train can make noise but you are not here for staying in bed. ;) breakfast was good and they sell beer and stuff in reception . Will stay here if im ever in town. Ett meget hyggelig o personligt boende næra togstasjonen i berchtesgaden. Trevlig service o hele stedet ær mycket mysigt med mye personlig charm. Enkel o go frukost. Inget lyx boende men du e Inte hær før o stanna inne ;) kan varmt rekomendere dette stælle. o ja tåget kan støra lite .
We stayed in this guest house for one night on our way to Austria. The rooms were very clean but as others mentioned, the hotel is basic and a little outdated. The train and the main highway into town run right in front of the guest house, so there is some noise from the train whistles until about 11pm and resuming around 630am. It was not a huge issue for us, since we wanted to get an early start. The breakfast was sufficient and the staff friendly. If you are seeking a simple, clean, and cheap hotel, this is the place. In my opinion, this guest house is a no frills but clean lodging option close to town.
Our daughter booked this hotel for the family for our visit to the Eagle’s Nest. We arrived by train from Munich around11:30 am. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the train station. We checked in at the hotel. The lady who greeted us was very pleasant. Our rooms were not ready so we left our bags there and went across the street and had lunch at a hotel restaurant. We took the Eagle’s Nest historical tour and returned that evening after dinner at a nearby pub. The hotel is a quaint, quirky establishment out of another era. The hotel exterior is pink. Access to the hotel entrance is via a set of steep steps. Once inside, you immediately get the sense that the hotel has not been renovated in quite some time, i.e., worn carpet, creaking stairs. There is no elevator in the hotel. We carried our luggage to our rooms on the second floor. Our room was basic but roomy with a double bed. The room décor consisted of orange walls, dark blue curtains, and bright yellow bed covers. The room featured a folding luggage rack, a small two-drawer chest, a large free-standing clothes closet, a safe, and a small television on a night stand. A sliding patio door led to a tiny balcony which had magnificent views of the Bavarian Alps. The private bathroom was small but had a hair dryer, sink, toilet, and shower. We each had a set of towels. The bed was comfortable. The room had radiator heating for those brisk mountain mornings. The room rate included a complimentary breakfast. It had a surprisingly wide selection of bread, sliced meat and cheese, cereal, yogurts, and beverages. We had a restful night but the train passes directly in from of the hotel. There is a crossing there so the train whistle sounds with an ear-splitting noise each time is passes through until around 11:30 pm and starts up again around 7:00 am. My overall assessment is that this hotel is a bargain if you are staying overnight or for a couple of days in Berchtgaden. The staff was friendly, the location to the train station is excellent, and there are several restaurants within easy walking distance. It may not be as modern as some of the other hotels but why pay the higher price if you are only going to be in your room to sleep? We paid €50 per person.…
