We stayed here while attending a performance of the Ring. The location is excellent--a relatively short walk to/from the Festspielhaus and next to the train station. There was no noticeable noise from the trains. The hotel provides shuttles to (but not from) all performances. Walking back downhill in the evening is not a problem. The breakfast buffet is ample. The...

I stayed here for 7 nights while attending the Ring at the Festspielhaus. I have visited twice previously. The hotel is the nearest to the venue so an easy walk. The Gendarmerie restaurant is a star-great food and very willing staff prepared to serve late comers reeling from 5 hours of Wagner in a very hot theatre sitting on hard...

The Bayerischer Hof is conveniently located right next to the railway station of Bayreuth and pretty much in the middle between the old town and the festival house, both within walking distance. Stilistically it is a bit of a mess. Originally from the Fifties (it appears) it has an Eighties reception and some more recent rather quirky decors dedicated to...

A very unique decor, with each floor representing a different country, full size sculptures placed in various locations around definitely give the place a fresh, special and unique flavor. Add to that the specious room ,complementary Internet access and reasonable rate, this is definitely a recommended place.

Well located within walking distance of museums Schloss etc. Nothing special about this hotel. Clean, no problem bringing the pooch for which I was grateful. No frippery in the hallways. Our room had a foul smell from the new (2 month's old) carpeting, perhaps it was the glue but I found it on the verge of nauseating. Good beds, nice...

Just as a proof: I'm still in the hotel while writing this review and I wanted to do so after just few hours spent here. It's not about luxury (this is a middle-range hotel) but it's up to it atmosphere and people among all others - never met so nice, pleasant and helpful people at once! There are also several...

Great spot for Wagnerian buffs. Restaurant serves delicious local wine with some interesting Francovian fare . Rooms are spartan but perfectly adequate . Owners are most welcoming . Swimming pool and proximity to the train station make this place a must for the weary traveller.

My husband & I stayed at Hotel Bayerischer Hof last year & chose it again this year as we had enjoyed our previous stay plus it was the only hotel in Bayreuth to have a swimming pool.....not any more! The swimming pool has been removed - replaced with a Wellness Centre ... I was absolutely gutted! We did try out...

People come to Bayreuth in the Summer for the Festspiele of course and the Bayerischer Hof is an ideal location, adjacent to the station and walking distance from the Festspielhaus where it all happens. The hotel has a nicely old-fashioned feel, comfortable, quirky, accommodating, low-tech. Rooms are cosy and comfortable with well-appointed bathrooms; some on the higher floors have a...

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying here during the Bayreuth Festival this August. We've stayed here previously and have always enjoyed it. As many people have said, it is extremely convenient for the Festival – only a 12 minute walk up the hill – and well placed for walking around the centre of Bayreuth. You can't beat...
