After we toured the castle we wandered around the town and came upon this cafe. What a delightful place. The cakes on display looked like a culinary feast. After making our difficult choice, we added their latte macciato with our selection. They have a nice menu for lunch and dinner.

We had a very good schnitzel here. In the afternoon we had a cool place, beiden the restaurant, with a nice view on the church and the beautiful facade of the Ritter hotel. Small disadvantage: only cash.

We stopped here for coffee and cake after visiting the castle. My husband had black forest cake and I had plum cake and both were terrific. We sat outside in the sun and watched the world go by and it was extremely pleasant. The waitress was lovely and the dining room inside looked a nice place for lunch or dinner...

A lovely stop on our trip to Heidelberg. A small local cafe. I had Wiener schnitzel, salad and cake. Tasty! Made to order food. Service was slow during a rush but additional help arrived quickly. A welcome stop after touring the castle. This restaurant is located in Old Town.

So, if you visit Cafe Knoesel in Heidelberg, I hope you find this review to be accurate and helpful. My wife and I found Cafe Knoesel to be a very...

I was here in the beg. of January 2013 with one of locals who told me that this is a cafe with long history. Was runned by old lady who had a slogan: I would better have less choices but all cakes home made. Cakes are still perfect and coffee is really good and mild. A little bit dark but...

We came in for cake and coffee and it was hard to make a decision. I want to come back over and over to work my way through the selections. This is a cozy cafe; a warm place to be on a rainy day. The proprietress was very efficient and courteous.

My Wife and I stopped by here for afternoon Coffee and Cakes and wow this was a real find. Not far from the old bridge near the Fish Market it is easy to find, and should not be missed. They have a fantastic choice of quite delicious cakes, that on our visit cost around €4.00. The coffee is a very...

We found this to be the best place in Heidelberg for top-quality cakes and tortes. Coffee and cake for two will cost you about 10 Euros, so it's not the cheapest, but the cakes are superb, and there is a wide choice which you pick out from the counter. Go on, treat yourself!
