I booked this hotel for a group of friends with some trepidation, given some of the reviews. But honestly I think people must have stayed somewhere else and got the hotels confused as this hotel was great! Perfect location on the main street, stumbling distance from Le Petit Danois and Dick's, and walking distance to the slopes. Parking opposite or public parking round the corner. Staff were friendly. Rooms were quite small (as ski hotels often are) but they were clean and comfy. They were warm but all radiators had a thermostat on so you could easily control the temperature. Bit annoying that even in the double room it was 2 single beds pushed together, but this is quite common in France. Also a bit annoying that there was no tea or coffee in the room. Ski room downstairs, tiny sauna available for use. I give it 4 stars (not 5) because I think it is massively over priced (over 500 euros a night for a double room), bar service was incredibly slow, and no breakfast is offered. However, there is a great bakery next door!…
We visited in september, it was a bit like a ghost town, with few hotels and restaurants open. After a long ride on motorcycles (among other over the Col d'Iseran), it was a very nice hotell to arrive at. The hotel is a typical mountain and ski-hotell, with wooden panel and other wooden details. Everything is well kept and our room was very nice with a good bed and duvet and with a good sized bathroom. The breakfast was ok, and we could park the bikes right outside the hotel, together with many other bikers. It has parking for cars as well (not free), and all you need of services, roomservice, soundproof rooms, airport transport, direct acces to the slopes, bar, restaurant, cleaning of room daily, and clothes etc The host was friendly and helpful This is a gem during wintertime!!
We were not guests at the hotel, but booked the New Year menu for our family in advance. We asked to have one dish replaced with something else which they checked with the chef and agreed to. When the evening came, it took ages to get our drinks ordered and the staff had no clue about the wines. We never got the dish replaced with something else (a ‘misunderstanding’), our order how we wanted our filet done got mixed up and service was so slow that in the end, we’d rather skip the last course and go. When the bill finally came, our 50% deposit had not been deducted. EUR 500 for four people for a truly disappointing evening
Good option for the single skiing traveller. Car parking underground over the main road with easy access. Probably could go for a cheaper breakfast in the cafe next to the hotel. Very nice staff and complimentary post ski tea and cakes.
Having read some of the previous reviews I was slightly worried about my stay at Auberge Saint-Hubert. However, I should not have worried. I agree our room was quite small and other than opening the window we could not control the heat but these minor inconveniences were more than made up by the wonderful welcome we received from the owners and all of the staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble. All of the meals were excellent. The hotel and bedrooms were spotlessly clean. The hotel was in an ideal location in Val d'Isere and very close to the free bus service which, if you did not want to walk to the lifts, dropped you off at them. I would stay here again.
