We've just returned from a week holiday. This was our first time in a chalet hotel instead of a chalet (in Val) and we are complete converts! The food was absolutely amazing and I lucked out on quite a few courses (duck starter done 3-ways was just divine!). It was a relief not having 18 year olds make your dinner which seems to be now the case in many equivalent priced chalet holidays! We had a vegetarian gluten free member of our group and she loved the alternatives she was given. Thank you Dan and the kitchen team! The staff was lovely, personable and helpful to a tee and they helped make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable (ask Matt to show you the cork trick, it's a work in progress!). Afternoon tea includes sandwiches as well as cakes. We only got to enjoy it once but it was yummy. Re the rooms; we were in 204 at the front. Great for access to the ground floor by the stairs and a separate living area just for us - very spacious. A bank of snow was still on the balcony as the lower floors get less sun exposure, so if you want space to sit out to enjoy the rays later in the season, go higher up the building. Kettles in the rooms (buy your own fresh milk from the Sherpa next door and keep on the balcony which is colder than the fridge, if you like a good mug before going for breakfast). The hairdryer is as strong as the one I have at home. We all agreed the showers are brilliant; lots of space, work well and the temp is great (I believe all rooms also have baths but we didn’t use ours). A HUGE selection of breakfast with orders being taken from the kitchen. I asked for poached eggs which were perfect. Location is brilliant, being about a 5 mins walk to the slopes or a short hop on the free bus to the Rondpoint des Pistes which is the nicer/lazer way of getting to the lifts. The restaurant fits the amount of people in the hotel, so there’s no rush to get away from the table. You are allocated a different table every evening which makes a nice change. You choose your evening meal at breakfast. One member of our party tried out the Spa and saw one person over the week. It certainly looked inviting, but most people are skiing. My only complaint is that the hotel is boiling!! Take summer tops for dinner (ladies), no jumpers. I asked for the terrace door to be opened when it was less busy just to change the air, which the staff were happy to do, but it was a different matter at dinner as some of the guests were older and didn’t appreciate it. Two members of our party were in 202a and were bothered by a delivery to the Sherpa supermarket next door in the early hours so if you’re a light sleeper avoid that room. We truly have had the best holiday and shall be back next year. I hope I’ve answered the questions that I had before booking in my review!

We loved this hotel so much in 2018 we booked again as soon as we returned home and booked up for Feb 2019. We were not disappointed, the Team were very helpful and polite. The ski hire process was efficient and quick, the Team in the ski shop were really cheerful and friendly, they even gave us a discount on the helmets. The equipment was well maintained and was good quality. The rooms are immaculate with very comfortable beds, plenty of storage and space to move around. There is a large bath and separate shower plenty of hot water on demand. We used the Spa in the basement of the hotel every day, it was definitely a hidden gem, I don't think anyone knew it was there. The food was plentiful and a very high standard 5 courses every evening and lots of wine to wash it down. If you don't want what is on the menu the Chef is more than happy to prepare an alternative (within reason - there is no Waitrose around the corner). The snow conditions were fantastic every day, the lifts never felt crowded, we skied from Tinges to Val d'slere most days. A lot of skiing but a lot of great places to stop to recharge on route. Definitely try the Folly Duce and Cocorico these are amazing places for a bit of apres ski. We had a great time and will definitely go back again in 2020.

Have just enjoyed a great break with my daughter here and would definitely recommend. Location is fantastic, rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms amazing and very clean. The enthusiastic and happy staff are welcoming and make the hotel a happy and warm place. The view from the dining area is arguably the best view in VDI. It was a shame it was so cold else the terrace would be amazing for an Apres drink! Ski room on the ground level - so much easier! This is not a 5* as claimed though, there are too many little things that detract it from being a true 5* such as broken chaffing trays at the breakfast buffet, dirty chairs in the dining area, one of the two public area toilets out of order all week and the spa tubs not working properly despite staff assurances "that is how they are supposed to be" - yeah right! Food on the whole was very good, the breakfast and Afternoon Tea buffets were excellent and a very wide choice. The dinners were generally good, although we felt the food we had enjoyed previously in the Esprit sister next door on prior occasions was actually better than here. One major niggle was that key staff really lacked in resort knowledge, if you were going to VDI for the first time you may struggle to get as much out of the resort as you possibly can. On the whole we had a really good time, but felt let down re the 5* claim - will be raising some points with HotelPlan directly.

We booked this ski holiday through Ski Total/Inghams for 4 adults and we had a really great time. We have just returned from a weeks holiday and although there a couple of things that we suggested to the team that would enhance the experience, we would definitely return. There is a heated boot and ski room on street level, which is only accessed by a secure door for residents. Comfortable bar and lounge area with comfy sofas, which are perfect for relaxing in after dinner or when you enjoy the tea and cakes served between 4-5pm. We opted for the best available ski package to rent from the Intersport next door to the hotel, but I really wasn't impressed with the quality of the boots/skis at all, we have had much, much better. The Food: A hearty hot or cold breakfast with as much as you can eat on each day of your stay. Evening meals are varied and of a good quality - 5 courses with unlimited wine, such great value! We did ask for steak knives and the hotel do not have them - this would have made things a lot easier, so much so we nearly bought them ourselves from the Sherpa store next door to the hotel. The location: Right in the middle of the resort, with buses right outside to take you in either direction for lifts. There's so much skiing and this hotel is a great base to reach everything. The rooms: We opted for a Savoie suite, which was huge. A good sized bedroom, separate area for wardrobes and draws, an enormous bathroom with separate shower and bath (great for a long soak after a hard days skiing) and large sitting/dining room too. My only real problem of the whole holiday was the temperature of the bedroom at night, although other guests may not have had the same problem. It was so hot that you couldn't sleep very well without opening the window. This overlooked the main resort and so it was extremely noisy, resulting in a dreadful week of sleep. All the heating is centrally controlled, but they really need to turn it down a little! The bed however was very comfortable. You are provided with a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. We did have to ask for the shower gel/shampoo/body lotion to be replaced, as we found this to be a bit hit and miss. The staff: Without doubt, this hotel's best asset is the wonderful staff. They are all so friendly and cannot do enough for you. Top marks to whoever recruits and trains them. It is impossible to name them all and they were genuinely all fantastic, but Jasmine, James, Caitlin, Matt and Sayla (sorry for the spelling) were always great fun and made the holiday such a memorable one. Well done and thank you Le Savoie, it was a great week and we will return!
