I have been at least 300 hotels around the world. But never see hotel like this. When I left the hotel I forgot my expensive coat in the shelf in my room. And after I called them just to find it and so my friend could pick it up. But after 5 calls they said me they can not find,...

This was on a quick business trip. Check in and check out was relatively painless - except their card machine doesn't work well. The breakfast room is lovely with a stunning view of the park. The rooms are very outdated but have all the necessities and are rather spacious. The beds are huge and comfortable however the rooms were quite...

Stayed one night in this hotel during our travels through France. The room was spacious and very clean. Coffee/tea making facilities provided, which is a nice change in country France. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is out of the city centre, but transport is only about 3 minutes walk away.

This hotel suffers from the drawback that the restaurant does not open for dinner on Saturdays, and there is no bar service on Saturdays or before 1930h on Sundays. In addition, on public holidays, and sometimes on the days before and after, the restaurant only offers a restricted menu, which gives very little choice. When the restaurant is open and...

We enjoyed delicious fare in a bright dining room in a modern hotel, but the restaurant could have been situated in any town in France. Service was prompt and the Maitre d' funny. Good quality food, relatively small portions, reasonably high prices.

This run down Mercure hotel charged us 315 euros for a basic room, presumably less than a 100 euros the rest of the year. We understand supply and demand during a football tournament, but this goes way beyond that. At least the staff had the good grace to look embarrassed when we paid and offered us a " free breakfast"....

The Mercure Saint Etienne is one run down , somewhat dilapidated, souless hotel ....Definitely not 4 star in any shape or form & definitely in need of a major refurbishment. Bed was clean which was about as good as it got. Worn discoloured dirty carpet, damp patches on the peeling artex walls & paper coffee cups in the room. Shabby...

I booked to stay here thinking the Mercure's are always a safe bet, but I was wrong! The rooms are outdated and poorly equipped - toiletries are not provided (only a generic bottle of something in the shower) and the only cups provided for tea etc are plastic or paper! Breakfast was disappointing. The whole experience was disappointing! When we...
